Young Pastor Preached 1st Sermon on Sunday Pearl Harbor Attacked
- By Pam Evans
Pastor Paul B. Chandler, Jr. Honored for 70 Years of Gospel Ministry
Pastor Paul B. Chandler, Jr., of Flat Rock, N.C., at age 17 was on his way to preach his first sermon at a youth rally in St. Petersburg, Florida, on Sunday, December 7, 1941, when he heard the news on the radio that the Japanese had bombed Pearl Harbor. He felt that the country would soon be entering into World War II, and he knew that many of the young people to whom he would be preaching could possibly be going into battle. The text of his first sermon was from Romans 12:1 and 2: “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world; but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Eighteen young people made professions of faith in Christ at that service. His first wife, Esther Lillian Allen (Chandler), was in attendance at that service.
Battle for the Soul of the Party
- By Bob Dill, Publisher
Word coming from the campaign of former Mass. Governor Mitt Romney indicates that the leading Republican candidate for President of the United States who has been running for half a dozen years will not attack his opponent in a personal manner and will deal only with policy differences. This sounds a lot like Sen. John McCain. How did it work for him? Mr. Romney would be better served if he would just tell the truth and be honest about who Barack Obama is and what he is intentionally doing to systematically destroy the American free enterprise system and our sovereignty as a free people ruled by law and not by man.

- By Chuck Baldwin
On Wednesday, November 16, 2011, Montana Republican gubernatorial candidate Bob Fanning and I held a press conference in downtown Kalispell, Montana, and announced that he and I are running for Montana Governor and Lieutenant Governor in the 2012 Montana elections. Needless to say, I am very honored to have had Bob invite me to join his campaign. In fact, he is the only candidate for governor that I believe in enough to run with.
The Real Thanksgiving
- By Bob Dill, Publisher
The thanksgiving image implanted in the minds of most Americans as children is one of Pilgrims sitting at a table decorated with a “horn of plenty” filled with vegetables and fruit, eating turkey with one or more Indians.
As one matures into adulthood, there are many things other than the Pilgrims and Indians for which to be thankful. I decided to make my own list.
I am thankful that I was born to a good family that was financially poor during the “Depression” but we didn’t know it because others were worse off and we shared what we had with them. I am thankful for having been born in the Dark Corner of Greenville County, South Carolina, with a stubborn Southern Heritage and a rich history of independence and a willingness to sacrifice if necessary to remain free.

Penn State: Victim of New Morality
- By Bob Dill, Publisher
The academic and sports worlds are in turmoil over the firing of Penn State’s worshiped coach Joe Paterno and the university president. The dismissals followed the public release of a Grand Jury report that revealed a popular assistant coach had a history of forcing homosexual acts on young vulnerable boys in university facilities.
Former Defensive Coach Jerry Sandusky was arrested and is now free on bail, after being charged with multiple counts of “molesting eight boys over a period of 15 years.” The head coach and university president were, according to the Gov. of Pennsylvania who is a member of the university’s governing board, fired because they did not react promptly and properly to allegations of wrongdoing.

Veterans Day Ceremony at Cleveland Park Vietnam War Memorial
As darkness fell on the Vietnam War Memorial in Cleveland Park, graying veterans of the Vietnam War, along with their families and a few friends, gathered with members of the Greenville County Vietnamese community to pay tribute to the Greenvillians who gave their lives in defense of freedom for the Vietnamese people.
A crowd of about one hundred huddled around the monument bearing the names of their fallen comrades and family members with their backs to a chilly breeze as Pat Ramsey, president of Chapter 523 Vietnam Veterans of America, issued a welcome and introduced the chapter Chaplain Dan Vess, who presented the Invocation. The “Borking” of Herman Cain
- By Bob Dill, Publisher
The white liberal elite power structure has been able to control and use black Americans for so long by rewarding their “leaders,” that they cannot allow an independent self-made black conservative to achieve prominence. That is why they continue to attempt to destroy Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas and why they must attempt to destroy Herman Cain. They see a black man that could become President of the United States and “upset their apple cart.” He understands their game. He saw through their promises and deception. He was able to escape their trap.

Albert E. Burmley
- By Keith Crowe
7A few weeks ago I wrote about one of the all time great song writers. This week’s feature is about another writer who has penned some of the classic Southern Gospel Music songs. His name is Albert E. Brumley and he spent most of his adult life in the small town of Powell, Missouri.
Although Albert was born in Spiro, Oklahoma, which in 1905 was Indian Territory. From Oklahoma, Albert made his way to Hartford, Arkansas in 1926 looking to enhance his knowledge of music. Mr. Brace Key, who had taught Albert some music, encouraged him to attend the Hartford Musical Institute. This school was managed by E. M. Bartlett. Mr. Bartlett had helped several young folks receive an education and get a start in the music world. Mr. Bartlett, a song writer himself, had written such great songs as “Everybody Will Be Happy Over There” and “I heard My Mother Call My Name.”
South Carolina’s Shadow Government
- By Bob Dill, Publisher
What Republicans see representing them in the South Carolina State Government is not what they get. What they see is a Republican dominated state government. What they see is an illusion and a deception. What they see is not what they get.
What they get is the same old Democrat, one-party rule that has held the state in a form of political bondage for more than a century – with a new label. It is the old wine in a new wineskin. The voters that have been deceived by liberal propaganda fail to see the truth behind the shadow government.

Somebody Has to Go!
- By Frank Hall
I am not the only person who will remember Saturday, October 29, 2011, forever. My wife, Margie, our friends Janice and Dennis Kinard, and one special officer of the North Carolina Highway Patrol are the ones that come immediately to mind.
That day started out quite harmlessly. I rolled out of bed at 7:00, which is unusually early for a Saturday. I got our slow cooker out and loaded it with two pounds of red beef stew meat plus carrots, parsnips, onions, potatoes, broth, and spices. These would cook on low all day so that when four hungry travelers returned about 5:00 P.M. they could sit down immediately to a delicious, hearty plate of beef stew. What did Robert Burns say about the plans of mice and men?
Obama Invites an Iraq Bloodbath
- By Bob Dill, Publisher
Many Vietnam Veterans had a sick feeling in the pit of their stomachs when they heard the announcement that Barack Obama was arbitrarily pulling all American troops from Iraq by the end of 2011. Here we go again. By so doing, he is leaving all those Iraqis who befriended Americans during our invasion and stay in that country to be persecuted and murdered by those who will fill the void upon our departure. He is also giving our enemies across the globe justification to say we were defeated and chased from Iraq by the Islamic terror squads and fear of Iran. After the loss of the lives of 4,500 of America’s finest, their Commander in Chief has betrayed their memory and sent a message from the White House that their sacrifices and those of their families were in vain and counted for nothing.
First in Series of Retirement Parties Hosted by RINO Hunt

Senator David Thomas First Recipient of Dubious “Honor”
“When I read a USA Today article disclosing that Senator David Thomas was collecting more than triple his regular legislator’s salary by opting to take his $32,390 annual retirement benefit instead of a legislator’s $10,400 annual salary. But continue to ‘serve’ and collect an additional $20,000 for in-district expenses and per Diem, I thought that my organization could help him understand the true meaning of retirement,” said RINO Hunt founder Harry Kibler.
Kibler said the card, along with an engraved gold pocket watch, would be presented to Thomas at the appropriate time.
