America’s “Last Chance”
- By Phyllis Schlafly
On the eve of the Iowa caucuses, where the first ballots for the next president are cast, Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL), who has not endorsed a candidate, gave a round of interviews declaring that 2016 “is the last chance for the American people to take back control of their government.”
“This election is different because we have pell mell erosion of law, the constitutional order, where President Obama has pushed an agenda that eviscerates the immigration legal system, and pushed this trade agreement that will commence decades of transferring American economic power to an ever-expanding international commission. It’s just not going to stop.”
Here Come the Candidates
- By Bob Dill, Publisher
By the time this issue reaches readers, the New Hampshire Primary will be history and the remaining active presidential candidates will be pouring into South Carolina. Reportedly South Carolina has been labeled the “Stop Trump State.” The reported polls show Donald Trump out front. Establishment Republicans seem to be split over Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio. It is expected that their PAC s will be attacking both Trump and Cruz. Both Mike Huckabee and Rick Santorum have dropped out of the race. Santorum has endorsed fellow Roman Catholic Marco Rubio. It is likely that Huckabee will endorse either Trump or Cruz, unless he remains neutral a while longer.
Senator Mike Fair Announces His Re-Election Campaign
- By Press Release
State Senator Mike Fair (R-Greenville), a lifelong native of Greenville, announced today that he will seek re-election to represent the people of Greenville in Senate District 6.
“It has been an honor serving in the State Senate, and I am proud of my conservative record of cutting taxes, supporting economic development, promoting a pro-job environment and protecting our state’s most vulnerable citizens,” said Senator Fair. “I’ve lead real reforms that have made our state an economic powerhouse, strengthened our protection of innocent human life, and made our streets more secure. While I am proud of these accomplishments, I know there is more work to be done. That is why I am announcing today that I will seek re-election to the State Senate in 2016.”

Women Will Be Drafted Unless New President Acts
- By Bob Dill, Publisher
Opponent of Women in Combat Believes Decisions should be made by Congress
Just before Christmas the Obama Administration decided to require women to serve in all combat arms positions. The Army and Marine Corps resisted the decision until it was decided. Now they are charged with implementation. Any commander who is less than enthusiastic about implementation is looking at the end of his career in an unpleasant manner. Last week the chiefs of the Army and Marine Corps testifying before Congress said it is now time for women to register for selective service. This means that civilian women could find themselves in a national emergency lugging a heavy load of ammo and equipment crawling around in the mud engaged in the deadly game of life or death, depending on the strength and determination of the opponent.
Greenville County Dreaming of Ten-Story Office Building
- By Bob Dill, Publisher
County Administrator Joe Kernell working deal with city and unnamed developer
During the first Council meeting of 2016, Greenville County Council Chairman Dr. Bob Taylor announced that one of the priority projects for the county during 2016 would be to proceed with plans to construct a new county office building.
Rumors of a deal with a local developer that wants to get control of the choice property occupied by Greenville County offices have been circulating for a couple of years. This, however, is the first official announcement of the project. Unexplained entries in the budget, such as a $2 million entry for a much cheaper crane has been question by citizen watch dog Ed Paxton.
Where Have You Gone Lenny Skutnik?
- By David Thompson
Do great people make history or does history make great people? Is it the larger than life character that molds and shapes events that determines the course of human existence? Or, more often than not, do events place a common person in a time and circumstances that give rise to uncommon human behavior?
Undercover Video Exposes Common Core
- By Phyllis Schlafly
A new set of undercover videos has been released by Project Veritas, the organization started by young journalist James O’Keefe who exposed ACORN in 2009 and NPR in 2011, resulting in the resignation of top officials at both organizations. The new videos reveal the mindset of the people who developed the Common Core education materials and the publishers who profit from it.
The expose comes just in time for the opening of this year’s Education Policy Conference in St. Louis, which is the essential event for parents, citizens and educators concerned about what our children are being taught (and not taught) in public schools. For 27 years, EPC has led the fight against education fads and fallacies such as Values Clarification, Outcome-Based Education, Goals 2000, School-to-Work, and now Common Core.
Politics Makes Strange Bedfellows
- By Bob Dill, Publisher
Someone said that the Democrats have two interesting candidates: a radical Socialist and weird old Bernie Sanders.
Republicans have a dozen candidates remaining ranging from conservative to establishment RINO. New York billionaire Donald Trump is the perfect candidate for what the RNC has been looking for. He is using his own money and expanding the base of the party to include Hispanics and Blacks. Despite the fact that he has consistently led in the polls, the controlling party leadership and most of the other candidates and their PACs are fighting him every step of the way.

South Carolina Policy Council is uncovering deception and fraud in county government. Needs volunteers and financial support to be more effective
Ashley Landess, president of the South Carolina Policy Council was guest speaker at the January 28 luncheon of the Greenville County Republican Women’s club. The Policy Council is a research organization that keeps citizens informed as to what their elected representatives are doing behind closed doors.
Landess has been president of the South Carolina policy Council since 2008. “The General Assembly is planning to raise taxes and use tricks and political shenanigans to disguise their actions,” Landess explained. They know they have plenty of money and do not need to raise taxes. They are just spending the money they have the wrong way.
Will the Republican Establishment Stand Down?
- By Phyllis Schlafly
As Republicans prepare to cast their first presidential ballots in Iowa and New Hampshire, the field remains dominated by “outsider” candidates Donald Trump and Ted Cruz, while Establishment favorites Jeb Bush, Chris Christie, John Kasich and Marco Rubio have been unable to advance to the finals. Will the Republican kingmakers and consultants who picked every nominee since Reagan (Bush, Dole, Bush, McCain and Romney) step aside to let the grassroots, also known as the “base,” work its will this year?
After months of waiting for Trump to self-destruct, the Washington-based Republican Establishment has finally found a way to take back control of the party from the outsiders and grassroots. The plan revolves around the newly empowered House Speaker, Paul Ryan, who is openly contemptuous of Trump and has little use for Cruz.
The Case for Secession
- By Kearney Smith - Green Mountain, NC
Please suppress the alarm you are likely to feel when you hear someone saying that a State or States should be allowed to secede from the United States. That alarm you may feel is a conditioned reflex which was carefully nurtured over several generations by the advocates of a strong central government.
Before 1860 most Americans would not have felt that instant, automatic alarm or revulsion at hearing the word secession. In those days some of the most patriotic Americans not only heard and entertained the term with a tranquil feeling but also considered it the solution of choice if the central government tried to exercise powers not specifically given to it by the Constitution. Of course, there were people still living in 1860 whose fathers and uncles had taken up arms against the British military for the very purpose of seceding from Britain.
Prison, Pardon, or Presidency for Hillary?
- By Bob Dill, Publisher
Hillary Clinton probably has more potential criminal charges pending against her than anyone else in the United States does unless it is a criminal illegal alien. Her reckless handling of highly classified material is unprecedented. Her apparent casual neglect in the deaths of four Americans in Benghazi, Libya and her brazen lies and denials regarding the deaths of Ambassador Chris Stevens and three others, who died waiting for help that was withheld and never arrived raises serious questions. Someone made the decision to refuse to provide adequate security and withheld help when their lives were in danger. Was it Hillary or the President? Scores of military personnel have served time in prison for simply making mistakes handling classified material, and it is a crime to make false official statements.

Blacks and the Confederacy
- By Walter Williams
Last July, Anthony Hervey, an outspoken black advocate for the Confederate flag, was killed in a car crash. Arlene Barnum, a surviving passenger in the vehicle, told authorities and the media that they had been forced off the road by a carload of "angry young black men" after Hervey, while wearing his Confederate kepi, stopped at a convenience store en route to his home in Oxford, Mississippi. His death was in no small part caused by the gross level of ignorance, organized deceit and anger about the War of 1861. Much of the ignorance stems from the fact that most Americans believe the war was initiated to free slaves, when in truth, freeing slaves was little more than an afterthought. I want to lay out a few quotations and ask what you make of them.
13 Hours in Benghazi: The Movie
- By Bob Dill, Publisher
The movie 13 Hours began showing in theaters in Greenville and across the country last Friday. The movie is based on the book 13 Hours: The Inside Account of What Really Happened in Benghazi. This very accurate movie is recommended for anyone who would like to know the truth about the attack on the diplomatic compound in Benghazi that resulted in the death of four Americans that was mishandled by the Obama Administration and has resulted in investigations to this day. American Ambassador Christopher Stevens, State Department Communications Officer Sean Smith, former Navy SEALs Tyrone “Rone” Woods and Glen “Bub” Doherty died while fighting off a terrorist attack and pleading for help from their government that never arrived because it was never sent.

Taxpayers Funding 140 Islamist Charter Schools in USA

Turkish Islamist Accused of Implementing a “Secret Plan for Bringing Shariah Law to America.”
WND.com reported Monday that one of Turkey’s most influential spiritual leaders lives in exile in the United States and operates 140 charter schools in 26 states. The director of the charter schools and the Islamic movement directs operations from a guarded compound in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania.
Muhammad Fethullah Gulen reportedly heads the schools as part of a plan for bringing Shariah law to America. The Gulen charter schools take in tens of millions of U. S. taxpayer dollars each year. Some of that money may be used to influence elected politicians.
Gulen and his organization have been the subject of investigations into alleged corruption scandals involving influence peddling.
