Arranged and Released by Space Force Hymn Composer James Linzey

WASHINGTON — Retired Chaplain, Major James F. Linzey, who served under the Air Force Space Command at what is now Vandenberg Space Force Base, has announced the historic release of ‘The Six United States Military Hymns Medley.’ As the acclaimed composer of the United States Space Force’s preeminent hymn, ‘Creator of the Universe,’ and author of the sacred lyrics to the NATO Hymn, Linzey’s definitive new arrangement brings together the anthems of every military branch into a single, unified tribute.
The collection is designed for use in patriotic worship services, civic observances, and military ceremonies. It features a blend of historic sacred music, including Linzey’s 2020 composition for the Space Force and his definitive 4/4 military-meter revision of the Air Force Hymn.
“These hymns are intended to help communities honor those who have served while directing hearts toward prayer and gratitude,” said Chaplain Linzey. “Military hymns have long united faith and service. This collection allows congregations to carry on that tradition in a meaningful, reverent way.”
The collection may be performed as a medley. Performance instructions are included to transition from one hymn to the next in the official Department of Defense (DoD) military ceremonial order:
- United States Army Hymn: “Eternal Father, Hear Our Prayer”
- United States Marine Corps Hymn: “Serving for Thee”
- United States Navy Hymn: “Eternal Father, Strong to Save”
- United States Air Force Hymn: “Lord, Guard and Guide the Men Who Fly”
- United States Coast Guard Hymn: “Ruler of Land and Sea”
- United States Space Force Hymn: “Creator of the Universe”
The Space Force Hymn, composed in Coffeyville, Kansas, is the first new American military hymn in over a century and has already seen widespread adoption in the Space Force and by churches, chaplains, and veterans’ organizations nationwide.
