Korean War Memorial Gets Special Attention

Whenever a young person shows a personal interest in the Korean War, we do everything we can to encourage them. When 11-year-old Miss Ashley Bush was shown the box of memorabilia with medals and ribbons of her late Grandfather, Olin Bush, a Korean War Veteran, she naturally had a lot of questions about the Korean War and the awards.

GCS Board of Trustees Unanimously Approve FY 20 Budget

Tuesday, the Greenville County Schools Board of Trustees unanimously approved the administration’s recommended FY 20 General Fund Budget. The $668.4 million budget increases teacher pay, reduces elementary class sizes, ensures a 30 minute daily planning for all teachers and adds more counselors at the middle and high school levels.

Greenville Technical Charter High School Graduates 5 Associate Degrees

Greenville Technical Charter High School graduates 103 seniors today, 5 of whom have earned Associate Degrees along with their high school diplomas.
Greenville Technical Charter High School, a non-merit public charter school and middle college, celebrates its 2019 graduates at a commencement ceremony at Furman University today at 4:30 PM. Eighty-five percent of the students of the class of 2019 took at least one college course while in high school and altogether completed 2,883 college credit hours with a staggering 54.5% of seniors earning 24 or more college credit hours. Five of the students earned an Associates degree: Jadin Beek, Brylan Hoxworth, Yazmin Martinez, Austin Meadows, and Manuela Velez.

The NGU education faculty chose White based on her academic record and dedication to teaching.

Knights of Columbus Gives to Washington Center

The Knights of Columbus Catholic fraternal benefit society has long been a benevolent benefactor for Washington Center. Recently funds were awarded for physical therapy mobility equipment through the Knight’s Hope Grant. Also, the school received an additional donation to support the various activities and programs for the student population with special needs.
