Members of His Staff Allegedly Spent $1,946 at a “Bondage-Themed Strip Club” in Hollywood
Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Steele is under fire for lavish spending for unnecessary and questionable travel and entertainment by his staff.
Since Steele has taken over as Chairman, RNC cash reserves have gone from $22 million to less than $10 million. Expenditures include $17,000 for private jet travel, $13,000 for limousines, and more than $9,000 for hotels in Beverly Hills, California. The straw that “broke the camel’s back,” was $1,946 spent for entertainment at a party at a West Hollywood bondage-themed strip club.

Third District GOP Congressional candidate Richard Cash addressed a crowd of over 50 conservative activists at last Monday’s meeting of the Americans for Constitutional Government study group. The ACG meets every fourth Monday at the Symmes Branch (Pelham Road) of the Greenville County Public Library.
The socially conservative Cash mentioned three reasons why he is running for office. He said that the country needs to return to God, government needs to be returned to the people, and socialism must be stopped.
Cash gave another reason for running for the Congressional seat currently held by GOP gubernatorial candidate Gresham Barrett. He said that he is concerned about the nation’s future and what it holds for his eight children and the many grandchildren he anticipates being born in the future.

“Today is a great day for the voters and taxpayers of South Carolina,” said a very happy state representative Nikki Haley when she announced the unanimous passage by the South Carolina House of H.3047, The Spending Accountability Act.
“Almost two years ago I introduced this bill because our legislators were voting anonymously more than 90 percent of the time and the citizens of our state could not see the spending habits of their elected officials. The House has now voted – unanimously – to make it permanent law that every single vote will be on the record, and I couldn’t be more proud to have helped bring this historic change about.”
Superintendent Dr. Phinnize J. Fisher Awarded Contract Extension

Greenville County Schools Superintendent Dr. Phinnize (Penny) J. Fisher received a positive evaluation and a one-year contract extension through June 30, 2013, from the Greenville County School Board during her annual performance review conducted today.
Dr. Fisher and the School Board agreed for a second year that a salary increase, historically awarded each year, would not be appropriate given the current economic conditions. The superinten-dent’s salary will remain at $218,166 for the third consecutive year as the leader of the state’s largest and nation’s 51st largest school district.

Greenville County Councilman Willis Meadows has officially announced his candidacy for reelection for Greenville County Council District 19 seat.
Meadows, a former principal of Travelers Rest High School, who is currently owner of a Greenville insurance agency, said he will continue to give the district “an effective, experienced and conservative voice on Greenville County Council.
“As a long-time resident of Greenville County I care deeply about our community,” Meadows said. “District 19 is facing new challenges, presented by unprecedented growth. Along with the existing problems of a weak economy, development, congestion, and an increasing property tax burden, County Council continually faces new challenges that require common sense solutions. I want to continue to help find these new common sense solutions for our county just as I have done the past three year as a council member. This approach is the same as I have used in my education and business careers for over four decades.”
