Stop Planned Parenthood Funding In South Carolina
- Details
- By SC Rep. Jonathan Hill
The Governor’s executive budget recommended defunding Planned Parenthood (Proviso 33.24), but the House budget committee refused to include this recommendation.
I trust that you need no reminders of why Planned Parenthood should not receive one penny of your tax dollars for ANY type of service, abortion or otherwise. This is an evil organization that primarily exists to kill the unborn, and while they’re at it, sell the parts of babies to cold-hearted “scientists” and pharmaceutical companies for even more profit.

- By GOP Presidential
The top Republican on the House Judiciary Committee on Friday released the full transcript of the panel’s closed-door interview last year with Justice Department official Bruce Ohr.
The August interview was one of several conducted by the panel, when it was led by Republicans, as part of an investigation into decisions made by the Justice Department and FBI in 2016 amid allegations of political bias against President Trump within the department.
A Warning from a Former Marxist
- Details
- By Joseph M Bianchi
I was attracted to Marxism at a very early age. It was more than simply early teenage rebellion. In a world of many choices, I felt that perhaps Marx had found the key that unlocks human existence. I had already rejected the Catholicism of my youth, and at the ripe old age of ten had declared myself an atheist.
The philosophy of Marx seemed to fill the void that main stream religion had left. Ok, I had concluded that there is no God, but there still had to be a reason why we were here, and why men and women acted the why that they do. Marx provided the answer: economics. Landlord to tenant, boss to worker, government to citizen; there was a hierarchy of economic unfairness—and this tension between the have and the have-nots had been going on for millennia.
Dems at the End of Their Trope
- Details
- By Tony Perkins

They’ve been one of the Democrats’ most reliable constituencies, but there are probably a lot of Jewish Americans who went to bed last night with some deep misgivings about the party they call home. For years, the only way this community has survived the Left’s growing anti-Semitism was to ignore it. But after the betrayal of this past week, it’s clear to everyone: that’s no longer an option.
Tens of thousands of potholes filled – or just funny numbers?

- By Rick Brundrett - The Nerve

If you ask the S.C. Department of Transportation how many potholes it fills statewide, all the agency can do is give estimates.
DOT says it patched an estimated 57,300 potholes statewide from Jan. 10 to Feb. 19 at a total cost of $3.6 million, the agency told The Nerve on Thursday in response to a state Freedom of Information Act request for records about its heavily publicized “Pothole Blitz.”
Duncan Opposes Democrat Takeover of Elections
- Details
- By US Rep. Jeff Duncan's Office
Washington, D.C. – Congressman Jeff Duncan (SC-03) released the following statement after opposing H.R. 1, the so-called “For the People Act.”
“Do not be fooled by the title of H.R. 1 which passed the House of Representatives today. The “For the People Act” would be more appropriately named “For the Democrats Act.” This bill is a wolf in sheep’s clothing and an attempted power grab by House Democrats to centralize power in one place – Washington – and as far away from the people’s hands as possible. This bill imposes dangerous limits on free speech, provides government subsidies for campaigns, implements unconstitutional mandates, and weaponizes the Federal Election Commission (FEC) against conservatives.
Throwback Thursday: Selling Lawmakers’ Economic Development Piggybank
- Details
- By The Nerve

Lawmakers have now created two separate committees to explore the sale of state-owned utility Santee Cooper. One of those committees (formed by the Senate) met last Tuesday and requested to spend roughly $193,000 to gather more information before taking official action. In light of this reluctance to move toward a sale, it’s important to remember that lawmakers are not just discussing the future of a state-owned public utility, but that Santee Cooper also functions as an economic development machine for the state.
