EXPORT, Penn. -- Evangelical Protestant donors under age 40 are extremely different from their older counterparts – and especially when compared with evangelical donors 70 and older.

The findings are detailed in The Generation Gap: Evangelical Giving Preferences. The study of over 1,000 American evangelical Protestants was released today by Grey Matter Research and Infinity Concepts.

Fifty-eight percent of evangelical Protestants give money to charities or ministries outside of their church. These donors were asked their preferences in eight different areas regarding giving. In every one of those eight areas, preferences vary substantially by age.

The media likes to say Christians are a dying, ineffectual voice in the public square. If that were true -- if people of faith really had no influence in this country -- then why is the Left pretending to be one of them? They talk a good game, but radical Democrats are terrified of the impact that motivated believers are having in today's debates. Yesterday, Europe's biggest religious freedom case went to trial. A Finnish member of parliament, Päivi Räsänen, has been charged by the Finnish prosecutor general with three counts of "ethnic agitation," a hate speech provision in Finland's criminal code. Each count relates to Räsänen's respectful expression of widely held Christian beliefs.

The first charge concerns a 2019 tweet in which Räsänen questioned the decision of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland (her own denomination) to partner with Helsinki's gay pride parade; this tweet also featured an image of Romans 1:24-27. Räsänen had moved on and forgotten about this tweet -- until she learned that the police were investigating her over it.

ALONE IN AFGHANISTAN, IRAN, KIDS RISK ALL TO 'MEET JESUS:' One girl in Afghanistan tells media ministry SAT-7 (www.sat7usa.org) she would be "cut to pieces" by the Taliban if discovered watching Christian children's shows broadcast in the local Farsi and Dari languages. Thousands of young children and teens in Afghanistan and Iran – many of them alone and in hiding – are using secure phone apps to watch live Christian shows and connect with other believers.

EASTON, Md. -- Children as young as 4 are risking their lives in Afghanistan because they want to "meet Jesus" and talk to other Christians, even as they hide from the Taliban.

Desperate for hope, thousands of young children and teens – often the only Christians in their families – are turning to a Middle East media ministry on their secure phone apps, a "digital lifeline" for those who are alone.

One young viewer in Afghanistan said she would be "cut to pieces" by the Taliban if discovered watching Christian children's shows broadcast daily in the local Farsi and Dari languages.

"I am the only believer in my family, and I came to faith through your program," the girl told SAT-7 (www.sat7usa.org), which broadcasts live into Afghanistan, Iran and surrounding nations. Many believers there are forced to practice their faith in secret and often alone.

After Two Decades, North Korea No Longer Considered World's Worst Enemy of Faith; Open Doors USA to Reveal New Top Perpetrator in Religious Persecution at '2022 World Watch List' Press Conference Jan. 19

SANTA ANA, Calif. -- There is a new top perpetrator of religious persecution, according to Open Doors' forthcoming 2022 World Watch List. For the past 20 years, North Korea has appeared at number one on the annual list, which ranks the top 50 countries where it is most difficult and dangerous to be a Christian. However, Open Doors leadership indicates that though North Korea's religious freedom violations have not improved, conditions have significantly worsened elsewhere in the world, causing a shift in ranking.
