The Fraser Institute in Vancouver, Canada, just published, for 2024, its annual Economic Freedom of the World Report.
There are many ideas about what freedom means.
Economic freedom, which the Fraser Institute focuses on, is of key and central importance. It is about the extent to which individuals have control of their economic life.
It's about law that protects private property, having an honest court system that adjudicates disputes, that government power to interfere with and regulate enterprise is prudent and limited, that individuals and enterprises have freedom to do business not just at home but internationally, and that governments do not debase their national currency.

(Worthy News) – Russian President Vladimir Putin invited Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas to attend the two-day BRICS summit which begins today (October 22) in Kazan, Russia.
BRICS is an intergovernmental geopolitical bloc comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia, and the United Arab Emirates. Founded in 2009, the bloc meets annually to discuss and coordinate multilateral, mutually beneficial policies. Russia took over the presidency of the bloc on January 1, 2024, and is therefore hosting this year’s conference.
Abbas’ invitation to represent the Palestinians at this year’s summit came after he made an official visit to Moscow on August 12.
COLUMBIA, SC - Voters in eight states, including South Carolina, will decide in November whether to reserve voting for only U.S. citizens. The Citizen Only Voting Amendments come as a result of the growing trend of municipalities allowing citizens of foreign countries to vote in municipal and school board elections. Foreign citizen voting is legal in at least nineteen cities across the country.
“Citizen Only Voting is the one thing we can all agree on,” South Carolina Senator Josh Kimbrell stated. “We disagree on many things but not on this. Americans of all stripes agree that only citizens of the United States should be voting in the United States.”

A new report is sounding the alarm on the dramatic increase in child sex trafficking facilitated by the Biden-Harris administration’s open-borders policies. According to The Free Press, child sex traffickers advertise sex with children on a number of websites and apps — including Facebook, TikTok, and OnlyFans — using photos of scantily clad women or girls whose faces are not in the photo, so that their ages are unclear. Since Biden took office in 2021, The Free Press reports, ads for child sex have increased and over 90% advertise sex with migrant children.
WICHITA, Kan. -- In a powerful shift that has shocked the pro-abortion community, Dr. Forrest Smith, a longtime abortion provider, has now publicly urged voters across the country to reject all 10 state abortion amendments on the ballot this election cycle. Dr. Smith, who once performed thousands of abortions, now calls for an end to the practice, especially for viable children, saying, "There is no need to kill viable babies."

(Worthy News) – The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) estimates that Hezbollah’s firepower has been reduced to 30% of its original strength since October 8 of last year, when the terrorist organization began launching rockets into northern Israel. Since the ground operation in Lebanon began in September, the IDF has killed approximately 1,200 Hezbollah terrorists, raising the total to around 2,000 since the start of the war.
The IDF reported striking approximately 3,200 Hezbollah targets during the war, including hundreds of weapons depots, rocket launchers, anti-tank positions, terrorist infrastructure, and command headquarters.
In the one debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, the vice president attacked Trump for having a racist record, citing his statements in response to the protests In Charlottesville back in 2017.
My intention here is not to defend Trump on some of the things he says about race -- which can be interpreted by some as offensive.
I'm here to look at whether Trump or Harris-Biden have a better actual record -- not better rhetoric -- in advancing the economic opportunities and advancement of Blacks and other minorities.

When we think about elections, our minds often gravitate toward national races such as the high-stakes drama of presidential races or the intense campaigns for congressional seats. However, local elections, particularly those for school boards, are crucial in shaping our communities, deserving our attention and participation, and impacting our daily lives.
From deciding on school board members to local council policies, the choices we make at the local level resonate far beyond the polling booth. They impact us more quickly, personally, and significantly than those made at the federal level.
Getting involved in local elections not only empowers us as voters but also helps ensure that the voices and needs of our communities are heard and our future progenies are educated and informed, not indoctrinated and brainwashed by perverts, “wokism,” or taught corporate self-interest and mandated academics such as common core. So, let’s shine a light on these often-forgotten ballots – they shape the future leaders of our country, state, county, and cities.

In her October 17 interview with Fox News Anchor Bret Baier, Vice President and Presidential candidate Kamala Harris attempted to coverup her responsibility for the lawless chaos of welcoming millions of illegal immigrants into our country by claiming the May 23, 2024, Border Act (S.4361) blocked by Senate Republicans 50 to 43 would have largely fixed the problem. She further claimed that former President Donald Trump influenced Republicans to defeat it, because he wanted to campaign on immigration rather than fix it. The truth is that Trump and the Republicans defeated S.4361 because it would have codified President Joe Biden’s terribly destructive, and unlawful open-border immigration policies into permanent law. Kamala called S.4361 bipartisan, although in the final vote only one Republican (Murkowski, Alaska) voted for it. Our country is headed toward immigration suicide, but S.4361 and Kamala would have accelerated the destruction of American Constitutional government and the American traditions and values that have made and sustained America as a great and free nation. It is regrettable that the interview was so short and Kamala was so evasive that Baier did not have the chance to expose Kamala’s dishonesty in her deceptive characterization of S.4361 and her attempt to fabricate a lie about Trump’s motive for stopping it.

At a time when Americans feel more divided than ever, influential members of the Democratic Party seek to undermine one of the Constitution’s greatest provisions assuring national unity: They want to abolish the Electoral College. Although many see the institution as a throwback to premodern times, the Electoral College still accomplishes the Founding Fathers’ will of seeing that people of all states have their interests represented in their government.
The most recent attempt to undermine the Constitution came from Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz, who said, “I think all of us know, the Electoral College needs to go.” Over the years, nearly every prominent Democrat, including Hillary Clinton, has called for the presential election to be determined by a national popular vote. But doing so would undermine national unity, eliminate voters’ confidence in election outcomes, and drown small (and, not coincidentally, socially conservative) states’ votes in a sea of blue.

“We were keeping a steady rain of bullets and arrows, with a few spears, down onto our enemies. Our people close to the center of the battle signaled Pastor Lee that they estimated the enemy still numbered 110 to 120, and their weapons were far more superior to ours. They mounted a fierce attack against Edrood’s position, forcing him and his men to retreat up the hill toward our Old White Church. What none of us knew was that hiding in the forest just behind our church was a mixed pagan and Jesus Sect force of about 75 men, plus several women fighters, who had arrived from a nearby village that had not yet been attacked. They had volunteered to help Andria kill our Enforcer enemies, knowing that they were next. Edrood was told of this fresh force, and ordered one of his men to tell them that he was going to pretend to retreat into the forest behind the church to lure the enemy right toward them.
Many of us already know which presidential candidate has our vote in November, but are some of your friends and family still on the fence? With such a close race ahead, every vote counts. That's why we created this simple presidential candidate comparison chart. We have taken some of the top issues that American voters feel deeply about and how each candidate has responded to those issues either through their political records or statements.
If you would like to know more about other races, visit our PAC Endorsement Page to see if we have endorsed a candidate in your state or district. You can also visit our Scorecard to see how closely the incumbent has aligned with Eagle Forum's pro-family values over the last two years.

One of the common claims made by atheists against intelligent design is that it is an argument from incongruity. While sometimes, people do use this type of argument when arguing for intelligent design, the idea is actually based on we observe not personal belief or understanding. It is the arguments against intelligent design that are mainly arguments from incongruity.
An argument from incongruity is an informal logical fallacy where a person argues that something must be true or false based on their understanding or belief about it. An argument from incongruity has two main forms.

“It’s not about conservation; it’s about control.” At September’s Eagle Council 52, Executive Director of American Stewards of Liberty Margaret Byfield shared her story about her family ranch being ripped away after environmentalists and heavy federal regulations had harassed them. When President Joe Biden announced an executive order on his sixth day in office to conserve at least 30% of all U.S. lands and water by 2030, she knew from personal experience that family property rights were under attack.

Did the United States join in with the other world leaders to build a safe and altruistic organization? Only if your definition of safe and altruistic is akin to believing your mother is the tooth fairy.
Nope! The instigators of, first, the League of Nations and then the United Nations had no room for charitable instruments; the plan was to set up a governance system that would eventually be used to take control of the entire world. Alger Hiss, a known Russian spy, had been Director of the Carnegie Foundation and then right-hand man for Franklin Delano Roosevelt, orchestrated the writing of the U.N. Charter. It was built by the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) (in concert with Hiss) and funded by the Rockefellers (and other globalists) to control the world – courts, weapons, economy, and even our minds. And it usurps our sovereignty.
We are celebrating a recent win for free speech in the 11th Circuit of Florida!
A federal appeals court has ruled in favor of our Brevard County, FL chapter in a case challenging their school board's policy that restricted speech at public meetings. The lawsuit was filed in 2021 and stemmed from incidents where individuals were prevented from speaking at school board meetings due to the overly broad nature of the district's policies.
The court found that the school district's policies failed to provide clear definitions of prohibited speech, leading to arbitrary enforcement and suppression of dissenting viewpoints.
A few weeks ago, one our Democrat colleagues penned an op-ed on the website of a Democratic campaign manager, alleging that the Republican majority in the SC House makes all of the decisions while cutting out the voices of Democrats like him. However, his assertion is wide left and 20 yards short. While it may appear that a Republican supermajority reigns over the General Assembly, the reality is far more complex—and far more troubling. In truth, moderate Republicans and House Democrats often work together behind the scenes to grow budgets, expand bureaucracies, elect liberal judges, deal out hundreds of millions of your confiscated dollars to their pet projects, and consistently fail to deliver on the conservative promises that the Republican majority was elected to fulfill.

LOVES PARK, Ill. -- It's a surprise twist few would have imagined — Ukrainian and Russian Jewish Christians are playing a vital role delivering aid to suffering families on the frontline in Israel, 2,000 miles from the war in Europe.
Recent immigrants to Israel include Ukrainian refugees who've added to the ranks of Israel's small-but-growing evangelical community.
"Many Ukrainian Christians of Jewish heritage who fled the war in their homeland to resettle in safety in Israel now find themselves at the center of another brutal conflict," said Michael Johnson, president of mission organization Slavic Gospel Association (SGA, www.sga.org). "Their determination to help their fellow Israelis is remarkable."
The Illinois-based organization is backing the relief efforts of more than a dozen Ukrainian and Russian-speaking congregations in Israel that are helping Israelis as the war escalates in the Middle East.SGA has launched a "war relief" campaign to support critically-needed aid distributions led by the Ukrainian and Russian-speaking churches.
What issue could be more important to a nation's future than education?
A country is about people. How Americans act, work, think, choose -- live -- reflects their values.
K-12 education, of course, is about learning to read and do math. This is what we measure in test scores.
But education is a lot more than acquisition of technical skills. It is about transmission of values and our sense of meaning of what life is about.
