Happy New Year, Y’all!
- Details
- By Bob Dill, Publisher
We are facing a New Year with great uncertainty. We have a President of the United States who is only interested in carrying out his liberal leftist agenda to “transform” our constitutional republic into a socialist, Islamic dictatorship under a world government that is bent on redistributing the wealth of this nation to the “have-nots” of the world. He is intentionally rendering the greatest nation the world has ever known to be defenseless against our enemies.
He is dismantling the defense establishment at a time of great danger. At the same time, he is living the lifestyle of the “rich and famous” on borrowed money and flying around the world and from town to town in a huge airplane as if cost was no consideration. He has proven that he has no interest in saving the nation from economic ruin.
Boomer’s Tale - Part 4 You Can’t Win ‘Em All

Translated from “dog” By W. H. Lamb
This is Boomer back with you again. I’ve been a little “down” the past few weeks. First off, my back legs are starting to give me a little pain from time to time. Nothing too bad, and dog medicine seems to help, but it does bother me some. One of the humans I take care of, named Grampa, has also been having pain in his back and legs for the past few months, and I know it bothers him. I’ve offered to share my medicine with him, but he told me that he preferred to take his own. He reminds me constantly that I am fortunate to walk on four legs instead of walking upright, and developing back trouble. Frankly, I’d never want to walk upright because I can run much faster on my four legs than any human I’ve yet met. Just another way that we dog people are the superior species (but I don’t brag about it).
We Will Keep Our God, Country and Guns

America has become a nation of violence. More gun control laws are not the answer to stop more tragic events like the one that recently took place at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut. The spiritual decay of our nation is the number one cause of the great increase in violence that Americans have witnessed and suffered from. Prayer and Bible reading were removed from the public school systems decades ago. Discipline in the form of corporal punishment in the schools is not allowed anymore. Hollywood has saturated the minds of the youth of America with bloody violent scenes that have desensitized them about the value of human life. Over fifty-five million unborn babies have been slaughtered in their mothers womb since 1973. Cold-blooded murders are commonplace throughout America.
If Voters Only Knew Some History

Last April, a candidate for reelection to his House seat was asked during a town hall meeting to estimate how many in the U.S. Congress were “card-carrying Marxists or International Socialists.” Without hesitation, he responded, “There are about 78 to 81 members of the Democratic Party that are members of the Communist Party.” He pointed to their membership of “the Congressional Progressive Caucus.” His frankness drew immediate attention, not only from media representatives locally, but some nationally.
The congressman who pointed the finger at this sizable number of colleagues is Allen West, the representative of Florida’s 22nd District, which is situated in a portion of southeastern Florida that includes Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach. The response likely cost him his reelection. In the very tight 2012 race, he lost by a few thousand votes and didn’t concede defeat until almost two weeks after Election Day.

Attorney Kyle Duncan on website: The Company Will Continue to... Remain True to their Faith, it is not their Intention, as a Company to Pay for Abortion-inducing Drugs
Faced with threats of fines as high as $1.3 million per day, Hobby Lobby, the Christian-owned company ordered by Supreme Court Justice Sonya Sotomayor to comply with the pro-abortion provisions of Obamacare or face stiff fines has, according to their attorney, decided to defy the mandate.
In a statement posted on the company website, attorney Kyle Duncan said, “The company will continue to provide health insurance to all qualified employees. To remain true to their faith, it is not their intention, as a company, to pay for abortion-inducing drugs.”
At least a dozen lawsuits have been filed by Christian owned and operated companies and institutions.
Why the Founding Fathers Matter

It has become typical in school text books, in public discussions, and in the smug wisdom of Progressives, to diminish the words and actions of those who led the founding of the United States. However, now that the nation has gone through what Al Gore called a “wrenching transformation” away from limited government, free enterprise, and individual liberty (all major ingredients to making the US the freest and most prosperous nation in history) it’s time to listen again to their wisdom.

Eleven Days Before Christmas

On Friday before Christmas I pondered what to put in this space since this issue is dated after Christmas. It was then I discovered an anonymous poem sent to me by a friend. The poem delicately related the Christ of Christmas to the events of today. Don’t be surprised if you shed a tear of both sadness and joy.
School Shootings

The main topic of the day seems to be the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting on Dec 14th• Can you believe that one lone 24-year-old “man” violated the rights of 26 people, 20 children and 6 adults, disrespecting their status as human beings, and treating them like “stuff,’ trash, to be abused and discarded as of no value? The police say he shot each victim from three to eleven times. Why did he shoot them so many times? Was it some macabre sense of compassion? Did he see them wallowing in their blood, screaming in pain, begging someone to rescue them? Did he shoot them again and again until they remained quiet, to put them out of their misery, like we would an injured wild animal? Or did he stand belligerently over them and mutter through clenched teeth, “Shut up. Kid. When I shoot someone they are supposed to roll over quietly and die. How dare you intrude upon my auditory space with your pitiful begging for mercy!”
The Principles of Evanjellyfish Christianity
- Details
- By Mike Scruggs
Many people believe that Evanjellyfish Christianity is rapidly displacing Evangelical Christianity in the United States and Britain. A historical analysis of this increasingly popular and trendy adaptation of Christianity reveals surprisingly deep roots and a well-established set of principles.
The first principle of Evanjellyfish Christianity is TOLERANCE. Tolerance is their ultimate, unquestioned virtue. The underlying multiculturalist principle here is that all moral or theological truths are relative and equal no matter what their source. In this chaotic system of theology, one truth is as good as another, and nobody’s truth is ever questioned—unless they believe that there are absolute truths. Believing in absolute truths is intolerant because it implies that some people are in serious error. Having to defend serious error and all sorts of nonsense and to suppress even obvious absolute truths for the sake of tolerance tends to make Evanjellyfish Christians fact and logic averse. Thus emotion always trumps facts and logic in their discourse, usually accompanied by much rambling nonsense.

An audience of well over 100 came to the museum to enjoy light refreshments, fellowship and a concert of Celtic harp music from the sisters Raquelle and Heather Sheen, who make up the Joyful Harps duet.
The sisters, attired in Civil War-period hoopskirts, played such Christmas favorites as Silent Night, What Child is This?, O Holy Night, Joy to the World and The Coventry Carol, to name a few.

The Joseph Evan Davis Chapter #907 Children of the Confederacy was honored to participate in the Memorial Dedication Ceremony for the Monument honoring Union County Confederate Pensioners of Color on Saturday, December 8, 2012 in Monroe, NC. Andrew Myers, President of Joseph Evan Davis Chapter, brought greetings. Other members of the chapter distributed programs and memorial ribbons, and they reserved the seating for the descendants of the Confederate pensioners who were being honored. They had the honor of meeting Real Daughter, Mattie Clyburn Rice, and of seeing many Confederate artifacts, including the cane owned by President Jefferson Davis, that were on display inside the Union County Court House. This is the first monument of its kind to honor pensioners of color, and it was a privilege to have a part in this historic occasion. The Joseph Evan Davis Chapter is sponsored by Winnie Davis Chapter No. 442, United Daughters of the Confederacy.
End Gun Free School Zones
- Details
- By Bob Dill, Publisher
We have witnessed yet another massacre of innocent children in a gun free school zone. When will school decision-makers learn that teachers and administrators cannot protect children against a gun, knife or ball bat-wielding assailant with their bare hands? Children must be protected from evil people who would harm and even kill them. Teachers and administrators must be given the tools and ability to ensure safety to the greatest degree humanly possible. The “gun free” craze virtually prevents safe schools by creating a “soft target” for killers. Children become “sitting ducks” for deranged killers seeking fame as mass murderers.
The massacre of students and school staff in Connecticut, Friday, was a demonic act of evil. Could it have been prevented, or minimized? That answer, in my view and that of others, is a qualified “yes.” Measures could have been taken to discourage such behavior and limit the loss of life.

A Few More Stops Before Home

Well, let's wrap this up, shall we? It's time for me to get back to Greenville so I can go back to work and make a living. I left you last week in Gettysburg and now I have to get back on the road and head south for about 500 miles. Yes, I am 500 miles away from home. Hey, that sounds like a good title for a song. I wonder if it's already taken.
Anyway, I left Gettysburg on that unseasonably chilly April morning, heading south on US 15 as it crosses the field over which General George Pickett's men charged almost 150 years ago. I crossed into Maryland and made my way to Frederick, a city I lived in for a while way back in the 80's.
My first top was the Roger B. Taney house, a brick structure located in the older part of town. Taney's place in history rests on writing the majority opinion in the famous Dred Scott case, asserting that Negro slaves were not citizens and were not entitled to the same rights as white men.

Too Many Parallels to Ignore

Having apologized to Rudy Schmidt and the Germans for believing Americans could never be deceived as they were by a popularly chosen leader, it is disturbing to view the similarities between the United States in 2012 and Germany in 1929-1939.
John Toland’s 2-volume Biography of Adolph Hitler published by Doubleday in 1976 describes a pre-World War II Germany in a way that reads like the headlines of today’s newspapers. Substitute the words “wealthy (successful productive) Americans” for “Jews” and you have what began as the demonization of a segment of society that was blamed for the financial problems of the nation and ended with what has become known as the Holocaust.

If the Democrats say something is white it probably is black. If the Democrats say something is sweet it probably is sour. If the Democrats say, “This bill is the mainstay of our war on poverty,” it will probably increase, not decrease, poverty and dependence on government “charity.” If the Democrats say, “This bill will decrease pollution in our lakes and rivers,” it most likely won’t decrease pollution significantly, but it will force polluters to give big bucks to incumbent politicians’ re-election funds in order to obtain waivers and permits to keep on polluting.

Strategy Seeks to Hasten Fall of Capitalism by Overloading Bureaucracy with Impossible Demands, Pushing Society into Crisis and Economic Collapse, Ushering in Socialism
Rush Limbaugh is one of the few public figures who has the courage to state emphatically that President Obama has no intention of fixing the economy.
“He’s at maximum damage potential right now. He can inflict the greatest damage possible for the purpose of transforming the country from capitalism to Western European socialism.” Limbaugh said on his radio program Monday afternoon, December 10, 2012.
The strategy being used by the Obama administration is thoroughly understood by the radical socialists running the country and the leadership of theDemocratic Party. Leading Republicans in the Congress are apparently clueless, or at least they appear to be.

After getting their picture taken, their owners could sit at the craft table and create a picture frame as a gift to give to a loved one of their animal sitting with Santa.

To understand American history one must approach the subject from realization that first immigrants to America were Caucasian, predominately European, and descendents of Noah’s son, Japheth.
At the time of the Great Flood, God chose to save only Noah, his wife, three sons, Shem, Ham, Japheth, and their wives—a total eight people of the earth’s total inhabitants.

When South Carolina State Superintendent of Education Dr. Mick Zais was elected to office he said, “To the best of my ability I will try to run the department like a business.”
Since being in office Zais has made progress in reorganizing agencies and has made the department more efficient. By reducing the size and cost of the department, Zais is able to put that money into the classroom. While speaking to the Greenville Tea Party on Thursday, November 29, 2012, he explained that 577 staff positions have been reduced down to 469. The reduction in size is permanent and permission from the General Assembly is needed to add any more positions. Zais stated that he is not done and will be eliminating more positions by not continuing them after they expire.
