Joint Manufacturing Venture Creating 50 New Jobs
COLUMBIA, S.C. – Huvis Indorama Advanced Materials, a 50-50 joint venture between Indorama Ventures Public Company Limited and South Korea-based Huvis Corporation, is launching new manufacturing operations at Auriga Polymers, Inc.’s campus in Spartanburg County. The $48 million investment is projected to create 50 new jobs.

FY18 total loan volume reaches more than $349 million with 695 approved loans
SOUTH CAROLINA – The U.S. Small Business Administration announced FY18 lending numbers showing that it guaranteed over $30 billion to small businesses that otherwise would not have had access to capital. Over $349 million was guaranteed to South Carolina small businesses.
In FY18, there were a total of 695 loans made in South Carolina, a 16.6 percent increase compared to FY17’s total of 596 loans. The dollar amount of loans guaranteed had a slight decrease of 10 percent from last year’s total of $389 million.

Company investing additional $6.2 million to double size of facility
COLUMBIA, S.C. - Nupi Americas, Inc. today announced that the company will invest $6.2 million in an expansion of its current manufacturing and distribution facility at the Southern Carolina Industrial Campus in Hampton County.
Established in 2001 with facilities in Houston, Texas, Nupi Americas is a subsidiary of Nupi Industrie Italiane, S.p.A., which has been manufacturing and marketing the NIRON product line since 1982. NIRON is a complete polypropylene pipe and fitting system for the distribution of hot and cold water in plumbing and air conditioning systems and is the focus of the Hampton County operations.

Casting facility to create 85 new jobs
COLUMBIA, S.C. - Caterpillar Inc., one of the world's leading manufacturers of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives, will locate a casting facility in Greenwood County. The company's $13.5 million investment is projected to create 85 new jobs.
To establish this facility, Caterpillar has purchased an existing 103,000-square-foot building located at 108 Corporate Court in Hodges, S.C. Slated to come online in early 2019, the facility will produce specialty castings used in a variety of engines and transmissions within the Caterpillar product line and will supplement the production of existing castings elsewhere in the Caterpillar production network.

$70 million investment expected to create 368 jobs in Walterboro, S.C.
COLUMBIA, S.C. - Evanesce Packaging Solutions, Inc. today announced plans to locate its first large-scale production operations in Colleton County. The facility, which will manufacture compostable food service trays, represents a $70 million investment and is expected to create 368 new jobs over the next five years.
Evanesce was founded in response to the growing global need to replace existing packaging technology with truly compostable, organic, sustainable alternatives. The company produces compostable packaging with considerations for strength, insulation and nesting capabilities but, more importantly, cost competitiveness to traditional solutions.
