I’ll wager that some of you also feel like we’ve been living in some kind of “reincarnation” of Rod Sterling’s great old TV series, ‘The Twilight Zone’, over the past four “Biden” years (or much longer for those of us blessed with long memories. You know—that “Twilight Zone” where things never were what they appeared to be. For certain we haven’t been living in “normal (constitutional) times” during Comrade Biden’s “mal-administration” (if indeed we ever did during any of our lifetimes), nor are we living among a population of mostly ‘rational’ people, sad to say. At best perhaps only “half rational”, courtesy of the poisonous propaganda constantly oozing from what passes for “main stream”, or “legacy” media.

A MAJOR FINANCIER OF OUR FIRST AMERICAN REVOLUTION
We were walking near Independence Square in Philadelphia, only a couple of blocks from Independence Hall, during one of our visits to that historic city back in 2003, when my wife and I noticed a sign near a long-established Jewish synagogue. It was a historical marker telling about a man named Haym Salomon (1740-1785), of whom we knew nothing at all. Why, we asked ourselves, had we never heard of this man whom we were informed was a “Financier of the American Revolution”? We didn’t recall ever having been taught in our American History courses (in the “dark ages” when actual history was presented) about a Jewish émigré to Colonial America who was one of the major sources of funds to support our patriot cause. Shame on us for being so uninformed. Shame on historians for neglecting this great yet little known patriot.

“The village leaders decided to abandon the rebuilding of our fortified part of Andria, knowing that our enemies would send their war machines against us again. We concentrated on fortifying our own homes, making them as strong as possible, covering them with rock and dirt. Each family head was ordered to store some food and water, as many weapons as possible, including bullets if he had a firearm, and was ordered by our village leaders to review with his family all of the possible escape routes out of Andria. We all knew that we could not hope to match the weaponry our enemies possessed, but we all did our part to make our village as ‘unfriendly’ to our enemies as possible. We dug stake pits and disguised them, making certain our people knew where they were. We raised heavy logs into the trees, where they could be dropped onto our enemies. We constructed piles of large rocks on the hillsides around our village, being held in place by hidden barriers that could be easily removed, so the rocks would tumble down on our attackers.

“Word soon spread up and down the river that Andria village had actually attacked an Enforcer installation and had killed all 98 of the enemy in it. We all knew that this bold action would put Andria on the Overmasters’ short ‘kill list’, for they were well known for the retribution they always practiced on individuals, clans, or in this case an entire village—who dared to defy them. Two days later the Lees met with the entire village, men, women, older teens, to discuss our possibilities and course of action. Some families were so terrified of Enforcer revenge that they loaded what they could on their horse carts and left Andria quickly. A few families decided to retreat deep into the forest in hopes of hiding from the Enforcers for an extended time. But most of us, numbering about 700 people, decided by open vote to stay and fight our enemies, even though we knew there was little chance that we could continue to resist them for long.

We’ve all heard that sage observation that “getting old isn’t for thefaint of heart, or for wimps”. At the age of 88, I can verify the truth of that wisdom, as the “aches and pains” of the years constantly do battle with me. Each week I seem to discover new joints that I never knew I had, and getting “started” in the morning is becoming a painful challenge. Developing sufficient “torque” to get moving is much more difficult than it was decades ago. Younger folks sometimes question the abilities of “experienced” seniors, but are themselves often in a mental fog when we relate historical events that are perfectly clear to us, even though they may have occurred decades previously. (True history is a “foreign concept” to many of our younger citizens, sadly, thanks to those deliberately incompetent “Institutions of Induced Ignorance” (i.e. government schools) that most of them attended.)

A “happy Christmas wish?” What happened to that good old “Merry Christmas” that people wished for each other? Back in the halcyon days of our cultural innocence and our “racial/gender/transgender/non-mulicultural/age/class/political/religious/ educational insensitivities”, Americans thought nothing of wishing their friends and family—even perfect strangers-- a “Merry Christmas”. I still do so, and I refuse to capitulate to the smarmy progressive “moon bats” and their brain damaged, guano-producing flock in our midst who consider me to be hopelessly old fashioned, culturally elitist, set in my ways, and unwilling to change. To those accusations I proudly andwithout apology plead “guilty”. Period—end of discussion! (But not the end of the article!)

Patria Nostra Conservanda Est! Our Fatherland Must Be Preserved!

The ancient Romans in their venerable Republic were a pretty smart bunch, until they started worshipping big government and raiding the public treasury. One of my favorite ancient Roman writers and heroes is Marcus Tullius Cicero (106 B.C.--43B.C.). A noted lawyer and unfailing defender of the dying Roman Republic, he was a keen observer of the decline leading to the ultimate death of that Republic, and was eventually assassinated by the Roman version of total government in the form of the followers of General Marc Antony, one of the assassinated aspiring dictator, Julius Caesar’s, loyal toadies. Before Cicero made his decision to oppose the rising dictatorship that was destroying the Republic, he wrote these famous words: “Patria est communis omnium parens”, which means—“The fatherland is the common parent of usall”. I’m sure that most of us would agree with this sentiment, but just what is our American “fatherland”?

What, you may ask, is a “faux pas”? Two dictionary definitions should suffice to explain a “social” ‘faux pas’, the most common type:
- “An embarrassing or tactless act or remark in a social situation;
- A significant or embarrassing error or mistake—a blunder”
To which we might add my definition of a political ‘faux pas’:
- Any verbal statement, political act, principled stand, support of the U.S. Constitution, defense of Judeo/Christianity, or admitted vote for the ‘wrong’ candidate that offends the perpetually offended and brain damaged vermin of the left that have infested and infected the so-called ‘social media’.

Remembering the Original Pilgrims At Thanksgiving Time

“…And as one small candle may light a thousand, so the light here kindled hath shone forth unto many, yea in some sort to our whole Nation. Let the glorious name of Jehovah have all the praise.”
So wrote William Bradford (1590-1657), (author of “Of Plymouth Plantation”, a history of the early years of Plymouth Colony), the longtime Governor of the Pilgrims’ colony at Plymouth, Massachusetts, in 1630, who was one of the true giants of early American history. Unfortunately, most Americans, especially our youth, have never heard of William Bradford and know virtually nothing TRUTHFUL about our Pilgrim Forefathers and Mothers. Today, the Pilgrim story is lost amidst the typical American celebration and hoopla of Thanksgiving—turkey, dressing, gravy, football, parades, and naps. Almost forgotten is the spiritual bravery, the courage, the sacrifices, the terror, the joys and sorrows that this brave little band experienced on their way to establishing not only a Christian colony in the frozen forests of Massachusetts, but ultimately the Country that most of us say we love—The United States of America.

Last time, we looked at the first of several of God’s Providential Miracles performed in this amazing WWII tale, starring a young woman named Margaret (Peggy) Covell, and her “heart change” involving total forgiveness for people who had killed her missionary parents in the Philippines in 1943. She was the first link in this miraculous chain of God’s “events”, which changed not only her life, but also the lives of two other principles she inadvertently interacted with. Inadvertently, perhaps, in her mind but NOT in God’s plan.

SUMMARY OF WHAT HAPPENED AT PEARL HARBOR ON DEC. 7, 1941, FOR THOSE WHO WERE RECENTLY GRADUATED FROM A GOVERNMENT “SCHOOL”:
“Pearl Harbor is (and was on Dec. 7, 1941) a U.S. naval base near Honolulu, Hawaii, that was the scene of a devastating “surprise” attack by Japanese forces on December 7, 1941. Just before 8 a.m. on that Sunday morning, hundreds of Japanese fighter planes descended on the base, where they managed to destroy or damage nearly 20 American naval vessels, including eight battleships, and over 300 airplanes. More that 2,400 Americans died in the attack, including civilians, and another 1,000 people were wounded. The day after the assault, President Franklin D. Roosevelt asked Congress to declare war on Japan.” (Which it did, on December 8, 1941---the LAST TIME that Congress Constitutionally declared war!)

PASTOR LEE AND HIS MILITIA LEADERS MEET WITH LEADERS FROM ANDRIA VILLAGE TO DECIDE UPON THEIR FUTURE COURSE OF ACTION
“On a cold morning in Winter of A.D. 2409, Pastor Lee and his son, Edrood, along with their 100 or so militia men, plus leaders from the three main groups in Andria village—the Jesus followers, the pagans, and the uncommitted and timid group—met at a small clearing deep in the forest a few miles from our village. While the militia stood guard, we all met to discuss what our path of action must be from now on in order to give ourselves a chance of survival. We knew we were badly outnumbered by our Enforcer enemies, and always would be. The others stood quietly while the Christians in our group asked for God’s direction and His blessings on us. A few of the uncommitted suggested that we had the choices of abandoning our village and relocating to other villages up and down the river, or even much farther away if we could find places willing to accept us; or we could all become pagans and beg the Enforcers to leave us alone; or we could fight them to the death.

A native of Cleveland, Ohio W. H. (Bill) Lamb was graduated from Cleveland State University (Ohio) in 1960, and relocated to South Carolina in 1964. For many years he was an Industrial Engineer, Chief Industrial Engineer, and plant manager in the steel, electronics, and apparel industries in Ohio, South Carolina, and Alabama.
An avid and long time writer concentrating on political and cultural issues of concern to America’s Christian Patriot community, he was published in the Lancaster, S.C. “News” during the mid-to-late 1960’s and in Greenville’s “The Times Examiner” since 1999. The late Christian Patriot, Col. Bobby Dill, was his first editor for The Times Examiner, the publication he always refers to as “a great journal of truth”.
Married to Barbara for 65 years, he has two adult kids, five grandkids, and six great grandkids, plus a “feisty and opinionated” 80 lb. Pit Lab named Hayley, who runs the entire house.
A long time member, with Barbara, of the patriotic John Birch Society, he believes that it is the duty of ALL Christians to first, share the love of his Savior, Jesus, with others, and then to be dedicated patriots and do everything possible to both resist the evil of collectivism that is smothering Western Civilization and educate and motivate his fellow Americans in the preservation of our unique Constitutional Republic.
