Michelle Obama has Added Yoga to the Annual White House Easter Egg Roll
Dr. R. Albert Mohler, President of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, is calling on Christians to avoid Yoga and its spiritual attachments. He explains that the stretching and meditative discipline derived from Eastern Religions is not a Christian pathway to God.
“That’s just not Christianity and I’m really surprised by the depth of the commitment to Yoga found on the part of many who identify as Christian,” Mohler said in responding to a media inquiry after publishing an article on the subject.

The Greenville County Republican Women’s Club conducted its annual Americanism meeting June 24 with a luncheon at the Poinsett Club. The theme was “Let Freedom Ring.”
The guest of honor and main speaker was Willie Thompson, a Vietnam veteran who served in the Marines.
The musical program was presented by Greenville in Harmony, a women’s chorus affiliated with Sweet Adelines International. Club members brought items for residents of the Richard Campbell Veterans Nursing Home in Anderson. Nancee Lee Yearick organized the program.
Upstate Baptist Church Holds Summer Drama Camp

Dr. and Mrs. Nicky Chavers and The Academy of Arts Drama Ministry concluded Summer Drama camp this past Friday. We at Bible Baptist Church were honored and blessed to be able to host the very first production of the summer by the Southern Drama Team. Last night a team of young people from all over the country performed “Joseph of Arimathea,” an original play written by Dr. Nicky Chavers.

May 15, 2010, was a pleasant, warm Saturday. We drove toward Choice Hills Baptist Church to attend Pastor Craig’s wedding, and along the way we listened to his Trumpet Pulpit segment on WTBI radio. Bro. Stan Craig was happily preaching “live” from his church office! It was 12:30pm, and getting closer to the start of his own wedding ceremony! Being so near to the starting time, it made us both chuckle! You could just imagine Brother Craig’s big smile! He said, “In just 30 minutes, I’m going to be married! Everyone is invited to come!”

Pastors and community leaders gather for a luncheon; filled with the solution to the drug problem in the Upstate.

Dr. David Gallamore, pastor of Rock Springs Baptist Church, invited pastors and business leaders of all denominations in Pickens County for a luncheon to welcome Wisdom In Living Life Ministry. The event gave the opportunity for Winn Freeman, Founder and CEO, to present them the facts about addiction; the epidemic destroying families and plaguing our community. The lunch was catered by Ann’s Cakes and Catering, along with a group of volunteers from Rock Springs Baptist Church who provided desserts to the crowd as they watched the DVD. It presented a dramatic depiction of firsthand accounts from former drug addicts; who went through transformation when they became students at Wisdom In Living Life Ministry.
