After a 50-year siege, the great strategic fortress of liberalism has fallen. With the elevation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh, the Supreme Court seems secure for constitutionalism -- perhaps for decades.
The shrieks from the gallery of the Senate chamber as the vote came in on Saturday, and the sight of that bawling mob clawing at the doors of the Supreme Court as the new justice took his oath, confirm it.
The Democratic Party has sustained a historic defeat.

“See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic elements of this world rather than on Christ.” (Colossians 2:8)
For many Christian homeschooling families, this verse illustrates the most important reason why they homeschool. They don’t want their children taken captive by the world’s education system.
The philosophy that undergirds most of “public education” today has totally rejected Christ. Instead it is centered on man. The emphasis is on what mankind thinks and feels, on what mankind has done and is doing, and on relationships between people. An excellent way to describe it is the phrase the apostle Paul used in Colossians, “human tradition and the basic elements of this world.”

Laurens, S.C. – Congressman Jeff Duncan (SC-03) praised the Senate’s confirmation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the United States Supreme Court:
“Congratulations to Brett Kavanaugh, a highly-intelligent, supremely qualified Judge on his confirmation to the Supreme Court bench. This confirmation is long overdue, and also extremely saddening that his good name and reputation were destroyed by the Democrats and many in the media. Many Democratic Senators opposed him within the hour of President Trump’s announcement, signaling that they didn’t really care about his record, his rulings, or his judicial philosophy.
Washington, D.C.: Just moments ago, the Senate voted 50-48 to confirm Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the United States Supreme Court. This comes after an all-night ‘talkathon’ by Senate Democrats in opposition to his nomination.
"We are thrilled with the confirmation of Judge Kavanaugh and believe he will make a wonderful Associate Justice to the United States Supreme Court," said Ed Martin, president of Phyllis Schlafly Eagles.

“The growth of our economy is always best measured where it matters most – at the kitchen table and in the family home. The newest employment report shows a stunning 3.7 percent unemployment rate nationally, a feat not achieved since 1969. Hardworking American families are seeing and feeling the difference the most in the Trump economy, with jobs back and wages rising. Therefore, as the midterm elections draw near, Americans must get out and vote to protect and expand the GOP majorities in the House and Senate so we can keep the Trump economy booming, our job-creation growth on track, and American families winning.”

A widely anticipated textbook, "Universal Economics," has just been published by Liberty Fund. Its authors are two noted UCLA economists, the late Armen A. Alchian and William R. Allen. Editor Jerry L. Jordan was their student and later became a member of President Ronald Reagan's Council of Economic Advisers, as well as the president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland. Professor Alchian was probably the greatest microeconomic theorist of the 20th century, while Professor Allen's genius was in the area of international trade and the history of economic thought. Both were tenacious mentors of mine during my student days at UCLA in the mid-1960s and early '70s.
The first two lines of James Lowell’s (1819-1891) epic poem, “The Present Crisis”, remind us that: “When a deed is done for Freedom, through the broad earth’s aching breast, Runs a thrill of joy prophetic, trembling on from east to west.”
Various people throughout the world may have a different perception of “freedom” -- i.e. what it means to them – how they define it. The Oxford Dictionary includes what I consider to be pertinent definitions:
Four days after he described Christine Blasey Ford, the accuser of Judge Brett Kavanaugh, as a "very credible witness," President Donald Trump could no longer contain his feelings or constrain his instincts.
With the fate of his Supreme Court nominee in the balance, Trump let his "Make America Great Again" rally attendees in Mississippi know what he really thought of Ford's testimony.
"'Thirty-six years ago this happened. I had one beer.' 'Right?' 'I had one beer.' 'Well, you think it was (one beer)?' 'Nope, it was one beer.' 'Oh, good. How did you get home?'"
Those on the political left wouldn't be fighting to the death over the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation if they were as committed to the Constitution and the rule of law as conservatives are. All of their phony hand-wringing is particularly ironic given their cynical attitude toward the Supreme Court's role.
They are pulling out all the stops to delay -- and thus defeat -- the confirmation because they are hysterically obsessed foremost with preserving the court's judicially manufactured precedent in Roe v. Wade of a constitutional right to abortion. There is nothing in the Constitution even remotely hinting of such a federally protected right, but the left is as adamant about protecting it as you would expect a mother to be about protecting the health and welfare of her children.
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Representing tens of thousands of Republican women, Jody Rushton, president of the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW), spoke out today in firm support of Judge Brett Kavanaugh and his immediate confirmation to the U.S. Supreme Court.
