President Biden Outlines Vision for Higher, More Complicated Taxes in State of the Union Address and FY 2025 Budget
- By Garrett Watson, Erica York, William McBride - Tax Foundation
President Biden’s 2024 State of the Union Address presented a vision of higher taxes for American businesses and high earners combined with carveouts, credits, and more complex rules for taxpayers at all income levels. On Monday, the president released his proposed budget for fiscal year 2025 outlining how the White House would implement the president’s tax vision, amounting to a gross tax hike exceeding $5.1 trillion over 10 years.
Rather than aiming for a simpler tax code that broadly encourages investment, saving, and work in the United States, the president has promised higher taxes that would decrease economic output and incomes, reduce U.S. competitiveness, and further complicate the tax code.
While the Biden budget claims to reduce deficits as a share of the economy over the next decade, that claim is based on several unrealistic assumptions, including:
Abiogenesis is an Atheistic Presupposition
- By Press Release
Abiogenesis is by definition a totally naturalistic concept of the origin of life. Rather than being created by God as indicated in the Bible, the entire concept is one of the light laws of chemistry just working together to spontaneously produce life given the right conditions. Not only does the notion of abiogenesis exclude God but it does so deliberately and before even considering a single bit of evidence.
Its connection to atheism goes beyond this, but it is a needed necessary presupposition of atheism and philosophical naturalism. While there are scientific reasons for life having a beginning, there are no scientific reasons requiring that it be by way of abiogenesis. Even ignoring God as a possible answer, there is no reason to not simply conclude that we do not know and cannot know the answer. After all the origin of life took place in the past, and there are many details of the past that simply cannot be reconstructed. This is particularly true in one-off events for which there were no humans around to observe and record.
Biden Administration Renews Iran Sanctions Waiver Allowing $10 Billion For State Sponsor of Terrorism
- By Emmitt Barry, Worthy News Correspondent
The Biden administration, last Wednesday, renewed a sanctions waiver that released more than $10 billion in assets previously frozen to the Iranian government, which the U.S. Department of State designated as a state sponsor of terrorism, according to documents submitted to Congress.
The Biden administration has renewed a sanctions waiver allowing Iran to obtain approximately $10 billion from Iraq for electricity, despite recent attacks on U.S. forces by Iranian proxies. This 120-day extension, authorized by Secretary of State Antony Blinken, mirrors a July waiver.
Netanyahu Plans Invasion of Rafah Despite ‘Red Line’ Set by Biden
- By Emmitt Barry, Worthy News Correspondent
Despite U.S. President Joe Biden’s assertion in a Saturday MSNBC interview that an invasion of Rafah would cross a “red line,” Israeli Prime Minister announced plans to invade the city, which currently serves as a refuge for over a million Palestinians.
In a broadcast interview with MSNBC on Saturday, Biden emphasized that Netanyahu needs to give more importance to the loss of innocent lives in the conflict between Israel and Hamas. He mentioned that an incursion into Rafah would cross a “red line,” warning against the potential loss of 30,000 more Palestinian lives.
When questioned if a ground operation by Israel in Rafah constitutes a “red line,” Biden stated, “It is a red line, but I will never abandon Israel.”

Tucker Carson Interview of Vladimir Putin - Part 3 of a Series
In Part 2 of this series, Putin had explained to Tucker Carlson how most of southern and eastern Ukraine were part of the Russian Empire and were both culturally Russian and Russian-speaking before the Soviet Union was formed in 1921. Nevertheless, the Bolsheviks placed these still culturally and ethnically Russian oblasts (states) in Soviet Ukraine. These included Kharkov, Lugansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Dnepropetrovsk, Kherson, Mykolaiv, and Odessa.
Commentary: The Soviets sometimes used a strategy of preventing loyalties other than centralized Soviet loyalty by shifting borders and peoples as necessary to strengthen and maintain highly centralized national power. They were not states-rights advocates. They were centralized power advocates.
The Muslim Rebellion Brewing in the Democratic Party
- By Matt Carpenter - Washington Stand
In eight months, Americans will vote for president. All available polling and recent primary results indicate that the country is looking at a rematch of the 2020 election with Joe Biden and Donald Trump. Millions of primary voters have yet to cast their ballot, and given concerns with the president’s age and ability and the current lawfare entangling the former president, anything can happen between now and November 5. But, as a thought experiment, let’s briefly examine one of the current trends playing out in the presidential election: the rebellion of Muslim voters.
Biden's OTHER Immigration Calamity
- By Stephen Moore
Recent polling shows President Joe Biden's open-border immigration policy is now ranked as the No. 1 or 2 problem facing America -- in part because of the havoc in our large cities where the millions of migrants are now residing.
Americans are a welcoming and generous people, but this policy of laying out a welcome mat to any and everyone who wants to come has stretched the bounds of our compassion to the breaking point.
The vast majority of the current asylum-seekers are not criminals, drug runners or potential terrorists -- though some are. Most are simply coming here for the reason our parents and grandparents came: a better life and economic opportunity for themselves and their kids. They are not villains. They are the victims of Biden's inhumane and ruinous "let 'em in" border policy.
If Government Comes For Your Firearms Tell Them: “Malone Labe”!
- By W.H. Lamb
THE BATTLE OF THERMOPYLAE SHOULD INSPIRE ALL FREEDOM-LOVING PEOPLE
On three late summer days a little over 2500 years ago, an event occurred that shaped the spirit of resistance to tyranny from that time to this very day. What motivates people, when faced with insurmountable odds and the almost certainty of their own deaths, to nevertheless take a stand against the forces of evil that they see swiftly enveloping them? Over untold centuries, men and women have fought and died for principles, for home and country, for the survival of their loved ones, for their faith, or simply because the alternative of giving up and surrendering to the Dark Forces was unthinkable. These people realized the eternal truth that often, and perhaps always, death is better than life as a slave who is forced to serve the enemies of God and freedom!

US Embassy Evacuated By US Military in Haiti
- By Emmitt Barry, Worthy News Correspondent
On Sunday, the U.S. military announced that it carried out an operation in Haiti to evacuate select staff from the country due to rising violence while also deploying extra forces to enhance the security around the U.S. Embassy in the capital city of Port-au-Prince.
According to a statement released by the U.S. Southern Command, “This airlift of personnel into and out of the Embassy is consistent with our standard practice for Embassy security augmentation worldwide, and no Haitians were on board the military aircraft.”
Timmons Expresses Support for DEI’s Doppelganger for Hiring Practices in Washington
- By James Spurck, Publisher
Does US Rep. William Timmons Support DEI?
In recent months, several educational institutions have been eliminating their Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs. These decisions were largely made in response to state bans and the discontinuation of public funds for DEI programs. There is also a growing public disapproval of activities related to "political or social activism" within public colleges. This trend has become more pronounced, particularly among Conservative elected officials and candidates, who are less supportive of DEI programs in higher education. As a result, many states are taking measures to have these programs removed.
During the 2024 local primaries, the fact that DEI organizations and programs, no matter where they surface, promote discrimination and push liberal and progressive politics, DEI is becoming a hot topic and a serious concern among Republican voters.
‘A Global Human Trafficking Operation’: Biden Admin, NGOs Flying Illegals into U.S.
- By S.A. McCarthy - The Washington Stand
New reports are revealing that the Biden administration has not only been allowing illegal immigrants across the southern border by the millions, but has actually been paying to fly them into the country by the hundreds of thousands.
According to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) findings by the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS), U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) put hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants on planes and flew them into 43 different U.S. airports last year alone. “CBP has withheld … and apparently will not disclose … the names of the 43 U.S. airports that have received 320,000 inadmissible aliens from January through December 2023, nor the foreign airports from which they departed,” the CIS report states.

South Carolina S965 vs. S975
- By Greenville Patriot Caucus
The Senate Medical Affairs Committee is set to hear two bills regarding Medical Freedom this month. S965 is a bad bill and is being fast tracked over the better bill, S975. S965 is scheduled to be heard in Committee this Thursday March 7th, so please act to this CTA before Thursday morning.
S965 is a bad bill for the following reasons:
- Allows private employers to fire unvaccinated employees and removes a lawyer’s chances of litigating on behalf of a person wrongfully discharged because of their vaccination status.
- Provides meager unemployment benefits through federal COVID-19 relief tax dollars.
- Establishes and funds weekly discriminatory COVID-19 testing based on vaccination status.
- Does nothing to reduce "public health emergency" powers.
Clarence Thomas, Liberal Racism and the Ongoing Denigration of Black Conservatives
- By Star Parker
President Joe Biden stirred up controversy during the last presidential campaign, when, in an interview with a Black radio host, he said, "If you have a problem figuring out if you're for me or Trump, you ain't Black."
Biden got pushback on this, but he captured a pretty common view among liberals.
That is, that liberalism is genetically emblazoned in Black DNA.
They see Blacks who are not liberal as not normal, not really Black.
Organized Theft in the Name of Government
- By Tom DeWeese - American Policy Center
Most Americans today tend to think of private property simply as a home – the place where the family resides, stores their belongings, and finds shelter and safety from the elements. It’s where you live. It’s yours because you pay the mortgage and the taxes. Most people don’t give property ownership much more thought than that.
There was a time when property ownership was considered to be much more. Property, and the ability to own and control it, was life itself. The great economist John Locke, whose writings and ideas had a major influence on our nation’s founders, believed that “life and liberty are secure only so long as the right of property is secure.”
Socialism is the Most Important Issue in America Today!
- By John Porter - Harrison, Arkansas
I write about the evils of Socialism so much, I have been asked by many people around the country if I would write a definition of Socialism, its inherent evils and the effects it would have upon us as individuals. The following is my attempt at answering that request. For certain, it would be a death blow to capitalism as well as to the God-given freedoms which we have enjoyed for so long in the United States.
Our country’s economic system is called capitalism. It is based upon private ownership of property, which includes the means of production for the creation of goods or services for income and profit by individuals. It is a free market economic system based on the recognition of individual rights to own property (lands, businesses, goods, etc.). Such rights give individuals security and a means to control their own affairs, thus their own destiny. Under capitalism, private citizens, with their ownership of property, are responsible for the production and distribution of goods.

Congress Has Agreed on the first Six Permanent Appropriation Bills for Fiscal Year 2024
- By The John Birch Society
Congress has agreed on the first six permanent appropriations bills for fiscal 2024. These bills amount to 1,050 pages, $450 billion in spending, and would fund the Departments of Agriculture, Interior, Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, Veterans Affairs, Justice, Commerce, and Energy. These bills utterly fail to reduce spending, at a time when the national debt is rising by $1 trillion every 100 days. Furthermore, all of the departments listed above are unconstitutional, as is the vast majority of this spending.
Congress is Pick-Pocketing Americans
- By Eagle Forum
Congress can’t seem to shake its spending problem. On Wednesday, the House passed six out of twelve spending bills, packaged into one bill called a “minibus,” to the tune of over $450 billion. That is $70 billion over the caps established by House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) earlier this year and $30 billion more than former Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) 2023 levels. Keep in mind, the total national debt is $34.5 trillion and the federal deficit for this fiscal year is already $531 billion – meaning the government has already spent over half a trillion dollars more than they have brought in through taxes!
Reasons Abiogenesis cannot be Considered Science
- By Charles Creager, Jr.
This is not a statement against abiogenesis itself. It is not saying that it is impossible or even wrong. It is just that it cannot be considered scientific. The following articles are reasons why it cannot be considered a scientific concept. As a result, abiogenesis has no place in a public-school science class. Not because it runs afoul of any religious beliefs but simply because it does not qualify as science. This series will address 10 Pacific reasons for abiogenesis cannot be considered science.
The Future of Golf: Finding the Perfect Fit, Even for Imperfect Swings
- By Club Champion
Global fitting success, Club Champion, brings data to the game
Willowbrook, IL – Prior to the COVID pandemic, the “golf is dead” narrative had been prevalent for years. Participation, viewership, and sales of equipment — there was a perceived decline in every category. But recent trends and post-COVID success tell a different story for one golf industry player.
Club Champion, an internationally acclaimed custom golf club fitter, is not only surviving — they’re thriving. In 2015, the company had just eight locations. Today, there are more than 125 fitting studios across the globe, including a location in Asheville at 27 Schenk Parkway. In a world where brick and mortar retail models are crumbling, how are they scaling so successfully?
A New Fiscal Commission Must Heed the Lesson of '97
- By Veronique de Rugy
The Republican chairman of the House Budget Committee made news recently by announcing that if his party is serious about changing the fiscal path we are on, they'll have to consider raising taxes. Politics is about compromise, so the chairman is right. Every side must give a little. However, "putting taxes on the table" is not as simple a fix to our debt problems as some think.
Looking at recent Congressional Budget Office reports, one can have no doubts about the fiscal mess. Annual deficits of $2 trillion will soon be the norm. Interest payments on the debt will exceed both defense and Medicare spending this year and become the government's largest budget item. With no extra revenue available, the Treasury will have to borrow money to cover these expenses. Meanwhile, we're speeding toward a Social Security-and-Medicare fiscal cliff that we've known of for decades, and we'll reach it in only a few years.
Why is Greenville County Council Pickpocketing Us Again?
- By Michelle Shuman - Greenville County
That is the estimated multi-billion-dollar question that remains to be answered. For review our County Council has for many years budgeted approximately $12 million a year for the roads program. This is in addition to the public works and engineering departments. However, they have for years only been using a portion of that money each year for actual road repair. Instead, they take portions to pay down debt, buy equipment, and do other “road related” items. (At the March 4, 2024. Committee of the Whole meeting, Chairman Tripp once again tried to make everyone believe the County is spending the full $12 million on roads. Once again, he shows us he hasn’t read this year’s budget or any other budget. This year the amount is only $11 million, and they are only actually going to spend 55% of the $11 million on fixing roads.)

Danger: The Proposed South Carolina "Health Czar" Legislation will be Hazardous to Your FREEDOM!
- By W.H. Lamb
WARNING: THE PROPOSED "HEALTH CZAR" LEGISLATION PENDING IN COLUMBIA WILL BE DANGEROUS NOT ONLY TO YOUR HEALTH, POTENTIALLY, BUT WILL BE VERY DANGEROUS TO YOUR CONTINUED FREEDOM TO CHOOSE YOUR OWN MEDICAL CARE AND ACT AS YOU THINK BEST FOR YOU!
Before reading my thoughts, please read the late and great patriot, Walter William's warning, below. It surely forces us to focus on the PENDING "reconciliation" of S 915 and H4927, which would establish a TRUE MEDICAL TYRANNY HERE IN S.C., and which would create a new 'EXECUTIVE OFFICE OF HEALTH AND POLICY", which would be consolidated as the SOLE POWER over several presently existing agencies, that now are under the control of the S.C. Governor.
Insights into the Russian View of Russian History
- By Mike Scruggs
Tucker Carson’s Interview of Vladimir Putin - Part 2 of a Series
Commentary: Only 60 percent of the citizens of pre-2014 Ukraine consider Ukrainian their native language. About 25 percent are ethnic Russians, and another 15 percent are of mixed Russian-Ukrainian culture. Three of 27 Ukrainian oblasts are for political purposes 80 to 90 percent Russian: Donetsk, Lugansk and Crimea/Sevastopol. Six more are 60 to 74 percent Russian. These are all connected in the eastern and southern regions of Ukraine and include two of Ukraine’s largest cities, Kharkiv and Odessa, and the entire Ukrainian coast of the Black Sea. These have been culturally, ethnically, and linguistically Russian for centuries, yet all but Crimea/Sevastopol were arbitrarily made part of the Ukrainian SSR in 1922. Crimea/Sevastopol was in an arbitrary political deal given to Ukraine by Khrushchev in 1954. It is less than 15 percent Ukrainian and has never been more than 25 percent Ukrainian. It has crucial military and naval importance to Russia’s Black Sea Fleet. Following a bloody February 2014 presidential coup in Ukraine, backed by the U.S. State Department, CIA, and British MI6, the Russian ethnic minority was subjected to severe cultural and ethnic cleansing to erase Russian cultural and political influence in Ukraine. This caused a civil war that was still ongoing, when Putin decided to intervene against Ukrainian military actions against Donetsk and Lugansk militias and civilian centers. Moreover, Putin and almost all Russian Federation leaders, motivated by Russian national security concerns, strongly opposed Ukraine becoming a member of NATO.
Many County Magistrates Still on Bench Past their Terms

Dozens of county magistrates statewide continue to serve months or even years after their terms have expired – giving S.C. senators who control their nominations the power to fire them at any time.
As of last week, 71, or a nearly a quarter, of the 300 magistrates statewide identified on the S.C. Judicial Department’s website remained in “holdover status,” The Nerve found in a review of the most recently available holdover lists from the department and Governor’s Office, as well as Senate journals, which record official actions of senators while the 46-member chamber is in session.
