Churches and Faith Organizations Called 'Non-Essential' During Coronavirus Crisis Troubles Christian Organization
- By Christian Newswire
WASHINGTON -- Christian organization deeply troubled that churches and faith organizations are being considered "non-essential" rather than "essential" in statewide orders during the coronavirus crisis.
Rev. Patrick Mahoney, Director of the Christian Defense Coalition, calls for all 50 states and the federal government to recognize the work of churches as "essential" to their local communities and be given the same status, protections and exemptions as other essential services.
Is the Pandemic Killing Biden's Bid?
- By Pat Buchanan
"This is the question that is going to dominate the election: How did you perform in the great crisis?"
So says GOP Congressman Tom Cole of Oklahoma in today's New York Times.
GOP National Committeeman Henry Barbour of Mississippi calls the crisis "a defining moment... The more (Trump) reassures Americans, gives them the facts and delivers results, the harder it will be for Joe Biden."
Medical Bureaucrats vs Medical Professionals
- By John H. Utz - Greenville, SC
As Pres. Trump has stated, "the cure (damaging the economy) is worse than the disease (coronavirus)"!
Yes, and 'damaging/ruining the economy' has been the goal of said medical bureaucrats, along with the MSM and the corrupt political operatives of left (including both parties). I am distinguishing, as we need to do, between the "Dr. Fauci's, the CDC, the Imperial College Study, et al", the medical bureaucracy; and medical professionals as referenced in "12 Experts Question The COVID-19 Panic" (pls google).

Open Letter to Mayor Knox White and the Members of Greenville City Council
- By Terry M. Thacker
The ordinance that is being proposed for a vote today by City Council is a governmental overreach.
I value my Constitutional rights and the liberties that I have enjoyed up until this point, liberties for which our forebears fought over 200 years ago.
Greenville's Proposed Government Overreach Ordinance
- By Heather Sheen
Dear Mayor White,
Please reconsider the idea of instituting a shelter in place for Greenville. The city is already fairly deserted as it is. Businesses are struggling. There is no need to further alarm people and hurt businesses by this ordinance.
Has Your County Declared a "State of Emergency"?
- By Dave Schwartz - FAN of South Carolina
Last week, between making sure my kids did their schoolwork and grocery shopping, I saw on the TV that my Mayor had declared a “state of emergency”.
It went in one ear and out the other.
With all the turmoil going on, I didn’t really pay much attention what the Mayor of Mount Pleasant had declared.
I didn’t think it mattered.
When I hear about a local politician declaring a “state of emergency” two things come to mind:
Reconstruction and the Rise of the Ku Klux Klan
- By Mike Scruggs
Part 3 of a Series on Reconstruction 1865-1877
Few nations in the last millennium have been so devastated by loss of life and property as the South in 1865. Perhaps only the Russians, Ukrainians, Poles, Serbians, and in turn the Germans themselves in the Second World War endured such suffering. A Union general bragged that crows flying over the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia would need to pack their own lunches. The Union conquerors then proceeded with the Reconstruction of the South by laying on heavy taxes, confiscating much of their remaining wealth in cotton and other goods, and forcing the sale of land under tax duress.
Sometimes, Even If You Lose You’re Still “Victorious”
- By W.H. Lamb
She was tall, had tawny (perhaps reddish) hair that hung down to her waist. She had a harsh, commanding voice and a quite piercing gaze when she looked at someone. She always wore a necklace of gold (probably what we call a ‘torc’), a very colorful tunic, and usually she wore a heavy cloak fastened at the neck by a brooch. So she was described by the ancient Roman historian, Cassius Dio (c. 155 A.D.-c. 235 A.D.), long after her death.

- By Georgia Right to Life

Behind Hospital Doors: The Outbreak
- By Tony Perkins - Family Research Council
Louisianans are a tough bunch. They've ridden out hurricanes, bailed out floods, and rebuilt every time. Now, they're facing a much harsher test: a disaster no one can predict. "It's like preparing for an invisible hurricane," one nurse said. "But we don't know when landfall will be." What they do know is that no matter how prepared they are, it's not enough. Not this time.
The Worst Time for Congressional Partisanship
- By David Limbaugh
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's attempted partisan sabotage of the coronavirus relief bill might mark a new low for her. That the bill finally passed doesn't excuse her reckless gamesmanship.
Republican and Democratic Senate leaders were close to an agreement when Pelosi parked her partisan broomstick and poured poison into the congressional punchbowl.

Can This Pandemic Usher in a New Era?
- By Pat Buchanan
To fight the coronavirus at home, France is removing all military forces from Iraq.
When NATO scaled back its war games in Europe because of the pandemic, Russia reciprocated. Moscow announced it would cancel its war games along NATO's border.
Nations seem to be recognizing and responding to the grim new geostrategic reality of March 2020: The pandemic is the real enemy of us all, and while we fight it, each in his own national corner, we are in this together.

- By Samaritan's Purse
International Christian Relief Organization Responds at the Epicenter of the Coronavirus in the U.S.
BOONE, N.C. -- Today, Samaritan's Purse deployed its Emergency Field Hospital to New York City, New York, where the local medical infrastructure is severely overwhelmed. In cooperation with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), New York state officials, and local hospital authorities, Samaritan's Purse will open a 68-bed field hospital, specially designed as a respiratory care unit. This response comes one week after Samaritan's Purse opened an identical unit in Cremona, Italy-making it an unprecedented medical response for the N.C.-based organization as two Emergency Field Hospitals are run simultaneously.
Time to Step Up: The Coronavirus Opportunity for Our Country
- By Neil Patel
This week's dumb national debate has been about when to reopen our economy. To date, our strategy on the coronavirus has been to shut down pretty much everything and stay home. President Donald Trump said he hopes to reopen our economy by Easter. Those who oppose anything the president says are therefore adamantly opposed to reopening our economy. What about the 80% of Americans who are tired of the battles dominating our politics between those who defend Trump at all costs and those who attack Trump at all costs?
Saluting Nation’s Unsung Heroes During COVID-19 Pandemic
- By Steve Jones
In spite of the uncertainty that Coronavirus (COVID-19) has caused, there are still many industries filled with hard-working men and women who are continuing to work amid the coronavirus outbreak. From hospitals to delivery services, to physical security companies to pharmacies, to grocery stores, transportation and logistics companies, there are many employees who, while they may not wear capes, are our nation’s heroes. These largely unsung heroes are helping our us survive this crisis by driving vehicles filled with crucial supplies, stocking store shelves, filling prescriptions and providing essential public safety services.
Corona Keeping Burma Christians From First Bible
- By Mission To Myanmar
ORIENT, Ohio -- The Kaang Chin people of southern Chin State, Burma, have waited sixty years to see God's word in their native language, and now they'll have to wait a little longer amidst the coronavirus pandemic.
When panic began to break out around the world, they were just finishing phase-one of a twenty-year project to translate the Bible. They had just completed the New Testament.

Did the Greenville County Council Read the Sunset Resolution?
- By Michelle Shuman - Greenville, SC
Did the Greenville County Council Read the Sunset Resolution?
The recent passing of the “Sunset Resolution” by the Greenville County Council should cause all of us to question if any of those in favor of the resolution really read it. If they had read it, they would have realized that they did not rescind the 1996 LGBTQ resolution which is an opinion resolution, not a policy resolution. Instead, they rescinded non-binding policy resolutions such as the Veterans’ and MLK holidays.
Think About It
- By Ray Simmons
I have been monitoring our political goings-on quite a while but have never seen anything like what we have witnessed in the last three years. Everyone is talking about the HATE being directed at President Trump, but no one I have heard has been willing to come right-out and tell the story as it exists. This hate had its origin long ago before Trump even seriously considered running for President… it would be directed at anyone who tried to reawaken America’s beginnings and “make America great again.” Rand Paul has presented one of the better explanations I have heard. But anyone who tries to tell the real story will be designated a CONSPIRACY THEORIST. We-The-People must not be enlightened.
How S.C. Lawmakers Increase their Odds of Staying in Power
- By Rick Brundrett - The Nerve
Every 10 years, S.C. lawmakers re-exert their authority to draw legislative and congressional district lines based on updated population counts – a typically convoluted process aimed at protecting incumbents.
While the 2020 U.S. Census is underway, state lawmakers quietly are planning to initially spend as much as $2 million on the “reapportionment” process, or the redrawing of district lines.
How those lines are drawn – largely controlled by legislative leaders – can greatly affect who wins elections, which areas are best represented, and what legislation gets approved.
Reflections
- By Ray Simmons
I’ve been hanging around this old world for a pretty good while and I’ve observed much and commented on a bit. People sometimes tell me that I need to be more patient about things, but I guess that’s just a part of who I am. I was even impatient about being born and got here two months early. I was pretty small when I arrived… they tell me I could have fit in a coffee pot… and our coffee pot was not very big. But I made it over the hump and there’s one thing I’m not impatient about – and that’s leaving.

- By Children of God for Life
CLEARWATER, Fla. -- In light of the Covid-19 pandemic, pharmaceutical companies are racing to provide a vaccine to prevent further spread of the disease. Unfortunately, Moderna, the company that has been recently touted in news headlines for its developing mRNA-1273 vaccine to fight the virus, uses aborted fetal cells.
Chutzpah: ADL Wants a Federal Bailout
- By Michelle Malkin
When I think of "essential" workers in America, the smear merchants of the Anti-Defamation League are at the bottom of the barrel. For decades, they've demonized conservatives and Christians as agents of "hate" and treated our very existence as incitements to violence. The ADL's manufactured outrage machine has broadened its target list to anyone remotely critical of Israel for any reason, President Donald Trump, Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, "America First" college students, innocuous hand gestures, cartoon frogs and anyone who dares to think or write that "It's OK to be white."
Virus Relief Hits Pelosi's Pork in the Road
- By Tony Perkins - Family Research Council
"Do Democrats even care?" It's a fair question -- and the editors at the Wall Street Journal aren't the only ones asking it. Here we are, in the middle of one of the greatest crises in American history, and Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) swooped into town to demand new curtains for the Kennedy Center. The $35 million for the performing arts hub is just one of the shockers in the House's 1,100-page virus relief counterproposal, which proves there will never be a shortage of one thing in D.C. -- pork peddlers.
