President Harry Truman, crusty old Democrat that he was, said the following while he was POTUS: “This is a Christian nation. In this great country of ours has been demonstrated the fundamental unity of Christianity and democracy.” He was correct in the first part, and misleading at the end, since I’m certain that he knew that the U.S. was established as a Constitutional Republic, and purposely NOT as a “democracy”,which our wise Founders, from their Biblical knowledge and their study of history, regarded as one of the WORST forms ofgovernment, and they were correct about that. (Using the word “democracy” in any way to describe our REPUBLIC is semantically misleading at best, labels one as a mal-educated person, and is politically incorrect in the historic use of that term, especially when uttered by those who should know better, or even worse—by those who have subversive and anti-constitutional agendas as their goal!)

Last time we explored some possibilities as to whether or not our troubled country, the U.S.A., was originally established as a Christian-oriented nation by religious people who were mostly Christians. One thing is certain when delving into our history: The Constitutional Republicknown as the United States of America was deliberately NOT established as a “Theocracy”, and in fact our Founders were aghast at the notion of such a form of government (as I would have been). Nor was it founded as a “Democracy”, which our Founders, in their wisdom, recognized as one of the very WORST forms of government (it IS). Many of our modern-day politicians, feeble-brained Dumbocrats and RINOS that they are, seem to always forget this fact (or ignore it on purpose)! The setting was a July 4th celebration back in 1837. The sixth President of the U.S., John Quincy Adams, son of the second President of the U.S., the Founder and Patriot John Adams, asked the following question during his celebratory oration: “Why is it that next to the birthday of the Savior of the World, your most joyous and most venerated festival returns on this day?” Adams then answered his own question: Is it not that, in the chain of human events, the birthday of the nation is indissolubly linked with the birthday of the Savior? That it forms a leading event in the progress of the Gospel dispensation? Is it not that the Declaration of Independence first organized the social compact on the foundation of the Redeemer’s mission upon earth? Would You Be A Martyr For Your Faith Or For Your Principles?

Would we, or could we—be willing to martyr ourselves for our beliefs? For our religious or political principles that we hold sacred and/or inviolable? Ah, that is a question to ponder, isn’t it? The definition of “martyr” is: One who willingly endures extreme persecution, suffering, torment or death for a religious or a firm political belief. Obviously, history tells us of untold numbers of men and women who have done just that—who have stood firm for God or Country (orboth)—who wrapped themselves in “the full armor of God”, or in their own definitions of “political principles”, or perhaps in the flag of the country that they lived and died for, and who withstood the worst that the enemies of God and man, or their own personal enemies, could inflict upon them, even unto death! So once again I ask: Would we be willing to do likewise? Could we—you and I-- allow ourselves to be martyred? That’s a question with no easy answer, isn’t it?

I’ve always loved Emerson’s famous “Concord Hymn”, the first stanza of which I’ve quoted above. It’s carved onto the famous “Minuteman Statue”, erected in 1875, that stands on the west side of The Old North Bridge in Concord, Massachusetts, on the spot where our American patriots fired volleys of musket fire at the British troops on the east side of the original bridge (the graves of two of the three British soldiers killed at this battle are buried by an old stone wall, near the bridge).

Lexington’s Brave Parson
Note: A version of both parts of this article appeared in the Times Examiner about four years ago. I wrote them at that time so that we who are the descendants of determined and stalwart patriots would remember our history and those who made it, and would appreciate their sacrifices. Today I republish them, not so much that we merely remember our patriot ancestors’ determination, but that we might emulate their example in all ways necessary.

Throughout much of the night of April 18, 1775, the tired man rode his lathered “verygood horse” along the muddy road that led past the small settlements and homesteads belonging to the people of his colony. Mud and road grime spattered both man and horse, but both were concerned only with the completion of the night’s dangerous work—the horse to find rest and food, and the man to warn his fellow colonists of the extreme danger swiftly closing in on them. His mount felt the urgency of its rider—some type of calamity was imminent, it realized as it gathered its last reserves of strength. The man was shouting strange words as he stopped briefly at desolate lone homes, or hurried through the silent dark streets of the few small groupings of homes in his path—words that sounded like, “To arms, to arms—the regulars are out!”

PERFIDY Is All Around Us!

Perfidy is a word that isn’t in the regular vocabulary of many people. I came across the word many years ago, the context of which now eludes me (probably when reading about some sleazy progressive politician), but it was sometime in the last century (or the “dark ages” as my grandkids like to remind me). Let’s first define the word perfidy, which comes from the Latin, “perfidia”, meaning faithlessness. The dictionaries define it as follows:
Oxford: (noun): deceitfulness, untrustworthiness;
Webster: (noun): the quality or state of being faithless or disloyal; An act or an instance of disloyalty or faithlessness or treachery.
Other definitions for “perfidy” imply a deliberate breach of faith or trust.

Last time we examined seven historical conspiracies, or “plots”, that did change history, or could have had they not been detected before they came to fruition. To further reinforce my argument that there have always been “conspiracies” among mankind, probably since shortly after Adam and Eve were driven out of God’s Garden, I’d like to review several more for your appraisal, further reinforcing my arguments. Always remember those three common elements necessary for some human activity to qualify as a “conspiracy”: It must be engaged in by two or more people, it must be kept secret from all but the most dedicated conspirators, and it must be for evil or unlawful purposes.

I assume that most of us are aware of the concept of “conspiracies” throughout world history, and we’ve probably heard that term used for much of our lives. Even today we hear the uninformed among us ridiculing the thought of “political conspiracies”, said ridicule usually emanating from popular but ill-informed “talking head pundits” or globalist-controlled MSM outlets all over the political spectrum who love to attack and disparage “conspiracy theorists” (people who areconvinced that there are genuine conspiracies among us at this very time, based on evidence they feel is compelling), and to whom the mouth breathing masses pay homage, like a horde of ignorant lemmings following the “wisdom” of a vacuous script reader or pretend “expert” who is standing on the edge of a precipice, doing his best to entice his fellow lemmings into jumping over the cliff of chaos. The more politically astute and educated among us are fully aware that “conspiracies”—political or otherwise—have existed in the past or exist now, and what has been the affect upon history of such activities. I suggest that the first order of investigation into “conspiracies” is to define the word:

Even If You Lose, You Can Still Be Victorious

She was tall, had tawny (perhaps reddish) hair that hung down to her waist. She had a harsh, commanding voice and a quite piercing gaze when she looked at someone. She always wore a necklace of gold (probably what we today call a ‘torc’), a very colorful tunic, and usually she wore a heavy cloak fastened at the neck by a broach. So she was described by the ancient Roman historian, Cassius Dio (c. 155 A.D.--c. 235 A.D.), long after her death. A queen of the Celtic Iceni people in eastern Britain, she led a rebellion—an uprising against the brutal and oppressive Roman occupiers of her homeland-- that almost resulted in her ejecting those Roman military forces and a large Roman populationfrom Britain. She was described by her people as a ‘freedom fighter’, and they loved her. The Romans, however, looked at her as a ‘violent insurgent’, and they both feared and hated her. She was BOTH, for she was dedicated to her own people’s freedom and way of life and survival, but was quite brutal to her enemies, seeking revenge for what they had done to her, her family, and her people.

Stand Up, Speak Out, And Stay Free!

Let’s begin this essay by examining a well known Bible passage—Matthew 5:13-16, with two versions--one from my favorite 1599 Geneva Bible (Super Titled in italics) and one from the New International Version (Sub-Titled in regular type):
Verse 13 - “Ye are the salt of the world; but if the salt have lost his savor, wherewith shall it be salted? “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.
Verse 14 - Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill, cannot be hid. You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.

Is The Democrat Party An Enemy Of Our Constitutional Republic? (Part 2)

Last time I ended with the contention that “neither of our two main political parties is the same NOW as they were originally…”. The perception has been that what we see today—the Democrat and Republican Parties as they currently exist—is what they have always been. But that is not the case. If we were able to “time travel” back to the last quarter of the 18th century and to most of the 19th century, the time when our present political parties were being conceived and organized, we would not recognize them. If our Founding Generation came back today to the nation they founded in 1787, I contend that not only would they be shocked at what we, their political and spiritual descendants, have allowed befalling their dream but that they would also accuse the US of allowing their visions of constitutional liberty and limited government, that most of them sacrificed so much to bequeath to their future countrymen, to be usurped, violated, and virtually destroyed. And they’d be correct in their accusations.

Is The Democrat Party An Enemy Of Our Constitutional Republic? (Part 1)

I could also have stated in this article’s title that “the loyalty of the Republican Party to our U.S. Constitution for many decades, and even under its supposedly “reformed” current leadership in the U.S. House, hasn’t been, and may not be, much better”! (Only time will tell). But for now I’ll proceed with this condemnation of what is more accurately known today as The Klan of New Bolsheviks (formerly known as the ‘Democrat Party’), with no apologies if I offend a portion of our American electorate. I ask my readers to keep in mind the old truism that often “the truth hurts”, and if that truth offends those of you who are perennial and unapologetic Democrats, so be it. As the long-suffering Capt. Rhett Butler finally declared at the end of Gone With The Wind, “Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a …..” Well, I assume you can finish his memorable quote, which adequately expresses my ‘concerns’ over whether or not you who call yourselves faithful Democrats (or as I charitably call you—“Dumbocrats”), can make any kind of logical counter-arguments to my contentions.

Silencing The Voice Of Opposition

Far be it for me to quote, in agreement, from a Democrat president, but I must admit that old Harry Truman was 100% correct in both his historical accuracy and in his remarkable prescience in regards to the well known propensities of “governments” to morph over some period of time from the “faithful servant” into the “fearful master”, mainly because the citizens of those governments were lulled into complacency by those old ‘siren songs’: “Let the Government Do It”, or “The Government Will Take Care Of You”. Uh huh. Sure it will.

You Can Trust “Rinos” To Be Rinos - But Some You Can’t Trust At All!

There are two kinds of creatures that inhabit our planet whose names sound similar. One is an ornery four-legged remnant of prehistoric times—a monster called a Rhinoceros, or “RHINO”, for short. It has poor eyesight and a reputation for a bad temper, and it doesn’t appreciate being threatened or pestered. Those who get on its “bad side” are attacked by this one-and-a-half ton beast whose intention is to spear you with its horn and/or grind you into the dirt. You certainly want to stay away from them if you value your life.
However, there is another kind of “RINO” in our midst. It usually lurks in the ranks of the Republican Party but gives only “lip service” to the sometimes conservative planks of that often weak-kneed political party, hence its nick-name: RINO, or “Republican In Name Only”. This species also has poor “political eyesight” and a reputation for stabbing those with whom it disagrees politically in their backs.
