Unveiling the Secrets of the Kuiper Belt
- Details
- By Charles Creager, Jr.
The Kuiper Belt is a doughnut-shaped region of the solar system that astronomers find fascinating. It stretches beyond the orbit of Neptune and is home to numerous icy bodies. This area of the solar system is fascinating because although it exists it does not match the predictions made by the nebular model of planetary formation.
The Kuiper Belt begins at roughly 30 astronomical units (AU) from the Sun, which is just beyond Neptune and extends out to about 55 AU. In general objects in this region are called Kuiper Belt Objects (KBOs) which are Icy bodies ranging in size from small chunks to dwarf planets. Dwarf Planets are the most noticeable objects found in the Kuiper Belt because they are the biggest. They include Pluto, Haumea, and Makemake, and they are clearly the largest bodies found in this area. Many short-period comets, such as Halley's Comet, are thought to originate in the Kuiper Belt, but this is just pure speculation based on the fact that they could not have survived in their current orbits for billions of years.
State Treasurer Dodges Key Questions on $1.8B Controversy

- By Rick Brundrett - The Nerve

Under questioning last April at a state legislative hearing, longtime S.C. Treasurer Curtis Loftis answered “yes” when asked by then-Sen. Mike Fanning if the mystery $1.8 billion was “real money that I can touch,” and if it could be withdrawn “today.”
Loftis, a Republican who was first elected in 2010, also agreed with Fanning, a Fairfield County Democrat who lost his reelection bid last year, that the $1.8 billion had earned “roughly $225 million in interest.”
But the treasurer’s statements, which were made at the April 2, 2024, hearing of a Senate Finance subcommittee, stand in stark contrast to the findings in a report issued two weeks ago by a global consulting firm hired by the S.C. Department of Administration, as directed under a state budget proviso, to investigate the $1.8 billion and related issues.
Transgenderism Not ‘Honorable, Truthful’ or Compatible with Military Service: Trump EO
- Details
- By Ben Johnson - The Washington Stand

President Donald Trump has signed two executive orders reorienting the U.S. military away from liberal indoctrination by banning extreme gender ideology —including transgender pronouns — and DEI policies aimed at advancing critical race theory. The actions brand transgender ideology a “falsehood” that prevents its adherents from living an “honorable, truthful, and disciplined lifestyle, even in one’s personal life.”
President Trump’s new policy will “end invented and identification-based pronoun usage” and stop members of one sex from using the opposite sex’s “sleeping, changing, or bathing facilities” except under “extraordinary operational necessity,” such as in war zones. It classifies “gender ideology” and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) as “radical, extremist, and irrational theories” and will set about “abolishing the DEI bureaucracy.”

Human Goodness Is Impossible Apart from God

The greatest error, the greatest delusion of unbelievers -- whether atheist or false religionist — is their belief that people can be good apart from the one and only true (Triune) God.
This erroneous and delusional opinion is commonly and widely held because statistically, in any given generation, the reprobate far out-number the elect. In other words, under the Sovereign God, in His unfathomable wisdom, those predestined for hell far outnumber those predestined for heaven.
A Rundown of President Trump’s 3 Pro-Life Executive Orders
- Details
- By Ben Johnson - The Washington Stand

On the day voters from all 50 states showed their support for the unborn, the Trump administration enacted three pro-life executive actions to limit taxpayer-funded abortions and end the weaponization of government against pro-life advocates.
President Donald Trump ended Joe Biden’s whole-of-government push to expand abortion, signing two executive actions which protect U.S. taxpayers from funding or advocating abortion in the United States or overseas. Polls show lopsided majorities favor the policies, known as the Hyde Amendment and the Mexico City Policy, which Trump reinstated Friday onboard Air Force One while being whisked to see massive property damage caused by California’s wildfires. The same day, the Justice Department noted it would stop the Biden-Harris administration’s prosecution of peaceful pro-life advocates under the FACE Act, except in “extraordinary circumstances.”

Behind Israel’s prosperous, high-tech image, more than 1 million children ‘food insecure’

SPRINGFIELD, Penn. -- One of the largest humanitarian aid operations in Israel is spotlighting the desperate condition of more than 1 million Israeli children living in poverty and hunger amid the nation’s ongoing war against Iran-backed terrorism.
“Most Americans think of Israel as a prosperous, high-tech nation,” said Joel Chernoff, founder and executive board chairman of Joseph Project International (JPI, www.josephprojectinternational.org). “The reality is that hundreds of thousands of Israelis are struggling to put food on the table, and the ongoing war against terror groups is catapulting more Israelis into poverty every day.”

A Stark Contradiction to China's Religious Freedom Claims

TIBET — On Christmas Day, December 25, 2024, Chinese authorities escalated their campaign against religious freedom by arresting and charging 10 Christians from the house church "All Ranges Church" in Tibet. This latest crackdown starkly highlights the hypocrisy of the Chinese government, which claims to uphold constitutional guarantees of religious freedom while systematically targeting independent faith groups.
The arrests occurred in the Bayi District of Nyingchi City, Tibet, where the accused were charged under Article 300 of China’s Criminal Law for “sabotaging the enforcement of laws by organizing and utilizing cult organizations.” This controversial provision has been repeatedly used to suppress religious communities that operate outside state-approved systems. The detained individuals are Yao Xilin, Zhang Wei, Ren Xiaoyun, Wang Haiying, Li Chunjie, Qin Chenglan, Li Xiaolin, Xiao Mingzhi, Wang Ying, and Li Yan — they include church leaders, youth ministers, and members.

Following last week’s ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas, debates have begun about Hamas-backed health authorities claiming that more than 46,600 people were killed, with just over half of them identified as being “women, children or older people.”

An ongoing principle of America's democratic republic is e pluribus unum. Out of many, one.
We honor and respect the uniqueness of every citizen. But we also have a common turf, a common set of transcendent values, that brings us together and we become one nation.
Sometimes, cracks appear. Sometimes, they grow and get larger and deeper. Things get dangerous when the cracks so severely deepen that they threaten to totally sever our common turf and our social cohesion.
Moving Target: How Americans Pushed the Pioneer of Woke Retail to the Breaking Point
- Details
- By Suzanne Bowdey - The Washington Stand

There’ve been times in this almost two-year wave of Pride pushback when Americans have to pinch themselves to believe their success. For longtime conservatives, Friday was one of those moments. After building the LGBT bandwagon that other companies hopped on, one of the country’s most unrepentant extremists — Target — finally surrendered on its woke agenda, handing an army of consumer activists one of the most symbolic scalps yet.
For Robby Starbuck, this was no ordinary conquest. People had been taking aim at Target’s iconic bullseye as far back as 2014, when the retailer became the corporate champion of same-sex marriage. Their support led to a chain reaction, providing cover for other major brands to wade into this brave new world of sexual radicalism. Under the leadership of leftist CEO Brian Cornell, they were one of the first businesses to sign onto legal briefs arguing for the redefinition of marriage, one of the first to open women’s restrooms and fitting rooms to biological men, and — in a move that few shoppers forgave — one of the first to sell chest-binders, packing underwear, and “tuck-friendly swimwear” to confused, trans-identifying kids.
Trump’s Terrific Agenda Impaired by Mistaken Ukraine Info

Deep State Propaganda versus Truth

President Donald Trump held an impromptu press conference in the Oval Office after the Inauguration ceremonies on January 20. On a press question about Ukraine, he claimed the Ukrainians had lost 700,000 dead, and the Russians had lost over a million dead. The Ukrainian estimate may be fairly accurate, but the Russian estimate was preposterous to anyone who has followed the detail of the Ukraine War and is not a propaganda dupe of the Ukrainian government, the Biden Administration, Deep State, or the captive mainstream media. Who fed Trump this Deep State bunk and why, when he needs and the nation needs hard truth?
HAYM SALOMON – JEWISH PATRIOT EXTRAORDINAIRE

A MAJOR FINANCIER OF OUR FIRST AMERICAN REVOLUTION
We were walking near Independence Square in Philadelphia, only a couple of blocks from Independence Hall, during one of our visits to that historic city back in 2003, when my wife and I noticed a sign near a long-established Jewish synagogue. It was a historical marker telling about a man named Haym Salomon (1740-1785), of whom we knew nothing at all. Why, we asked ourselves, had we never heard of this man whom we were informed was a “Financier of the American Revolution”? We didn’t recall ever having been taught in our American History courses (in the “dark ages” when actual history was presented) about a Jewish émigré to Colonial America who was one of the major sources of funds to support our patriot cause. Shame on us for being so uninformed. Shame on historians for neglecting this great yet little known patriot.

I’m convinced if the original Disciples of Christ knew the cost of walking with Him, they would certainly have backed out of the deal. I’m convinced if I had known the cost of walking with Christ, I certainly would have run away…and kept running! I also now believe true Christianity, not the “feel good happy times” form taught in most churches today, is an experience in losing the lives of our dreams in order to receive the life Jesus died to give us. Our eternal salvation is secured by our initial decision to accept Jesus Christ’s forgiveness, and invite Him into our heart, our being. Conversion on the other hand is the lifelong process of turning away from our plans and turning toward God’s seemingly disruptive creativity. This fact of true Christianity slowly became reality for the original Disciples of Christ except for Judas who chose not to abandon his plans, his wants, his loyalty to the god of this world; Judas was not happy with the disruptive creativity Jesus ordered, preferring to choose the nice sounding promises and trinkets given out by Satan.

A Smart Way to Pay for the Trump Tax Cut: Auction Federal Assets
- Details
- By Stephen Moore
The federal government owns multiple trillions of dollars of federal assets -- from land, to buildings, to patent rights, to mineral rights, to immigrant visas, to oil fields to trucks and trains and unused office furniture equipment.
The government could earn well over $1 trillion and perhaps as much as $10 trillion by selling off these assets that are simply hoarded (figuratively) in the dark and dusty basement of government buildings. These assets could then generate added annual tax receipts once they are utilized for productive purposes.
I'm not talking about selling the Washington Monument or Yellowstone National Park. The sales could and in most cases should be limited to American citizens and American businesses.

Ratio Christi Secures Another First Amendment Victory
- Details
- By Ratio Christi
WASHINGTON -- Continuing its undefeated record of First Amendment court cases involving Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) and Ratio Christi (RC), the college campus evangelism and apologetics ministry proved victorious over the Secular Student Alliance. In 2020, President Trump’s first Department of Education enacted the “Free Inquiry Rule,” which allowed religious campus student organizations to have leaders who reflect the organization’s theological beliefs and to share those beliefs freely without university discrimination. Previously, public universities were pressuring Christian organizations to allow non-Christians to serve on their leadership teams or risk losing university recognition on campus. In some cases, like at the University of Iowa, religious student groups were being de-listed and barred from receiving university funds available to other student groups. The Free Inquiry Rule was put to the test in January of 2021 when the Secular Student Alliance (SSA), with the assistance of Americans United for Separation of Church and State, filed suit against the Biden administration’s Department of Education. That same month, Ratio Christi moved to enter the case to defend the Free Inquiry Rule. The Biden administration, sympathetic to SSA’s claims, initially tried to repeal the Free Inquiry Rule. In December of 2024, however, the Biden administration announced it was abandoning its attempt to change the regulation.

Gov. McMaster Doubles Down on Nominating Dr. Simmer for Public Health Director While Turning a Blind Eye to an Objectively Better Option
Governor McMaster is doubling down on his nomination of Dr. Simmer for South Carolina’s public health director following a grassroots push to stop Simmer’s confirmation and after receiving the resume of a well-known medical freedom physician.
Back in November, Governor Henry McMaster nominated Dr. Edward Simmer as the Director of Public Health that is awaiting Senate confirmation. Since this nomination was announced, both the SC Senate and Gov. McMaster has received an influx of calls and letters from South Carolinians advocating against Dr. Simmer, as he has a scarred background and isn’t even a clinical physician.

MARRIETA, Ga. -- As America continues to debate over the legality and ethics of abortion, millions of innocent infants are being murdered all around the world. Only 3% of abortions worldwide occur in the United States, yet it’s estimated that 97% of pro-life resources are directed to America. That’s why PassionLife works as a pro-life global missions partner to missionaries and Indigenous Christian leaders where the plague of abortion, infanticide and gendercide is especially concentrated.

244 years ago the Redcoats under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Banastre Tarleton got their comeuppance at an out-of-the-way backwoods cattle holding area in northeastern South Carolina known as the Cowpens.
The feisty Daniel Morgan, already a Patriot hero, mounted a brilliant defense against some of Britain's finest troops using both militia and Continental soldiers.
Tarleton, who was used to rushing his cavalry right down the middle of opposing forces in previous battles and winning, did not deviate this time from his prior tactics. He did not expect the welcome that he received until it was too late.

President Donald Trump has kept his campaign promise to pardon nearly two dozen peaceful pro-life advocates prosecuted by the Biden-Harris administration.
The 47th president signed a pardon for 23 pro-life advocates, many of them elderly and still incarcerated, whom the Biden administration’s Justice Department threatened with up to 11 years in prison for carrying out nonviolent protests against abortion or infanticide.
“Twenty-three people were prosecuted. They should not have been prosecuted. Many of them are elderly people. They should not have been prosecuted,” said President Trump, who called their imprisonment “ridiculous.”

Just before signing the Executive Order pardoning the rescuers, President Trump asserted they never should have been prosecuted and added, “This is a great honor to sign this.”
President of Operation Rescue Troy Newman said, “As the largest civil disobedience movement in American history with over 75,000 arrests for peaceful non-violent intervention on behalf of preborn infants in the late 80s and 90s, we relate to the plight of these men and women.”
